Specifically, the mismatch in crew values caused by commander's 10% crew skill bonus. Outside of a crew of 1 commander only, 100% crew is a fiction. The client values, given for 100% crew, will normally be taken into battle with 110% crew skill members aside from specific functions, causing their actual performance to deviate from the expected client value. These differences are taken into account in tooltip boxes.

The AMX AC mle. 48 is a French tier 8 tank destroyer.

A draft project of a heavy tank destroyer, developed in 1947–1948 under the influence of the Jagdpanther. The vehicle was to feature a 120 mm gun as the main armament. The distinctive feature of the vehicle was three 20 mm MG 151/20 machineguns, mounted on top of the fighting compartment and rear. Existed only in blueprints.

A major overhaul after the Mle 46 experience, the Mle 48 presents something of an 'all-or-nothing' approach to its capabilities. Capable of ignoring guns with less than 240 penetration without consequence if they are in front of it, the 48 can be devastated by a gun with only 20 penetration anywhere else. With a gun possessing enough penetration, DPS, and DPM to intimidate any tank at its tier and remain a threat in ones above it, it has frustrating gun handling characteristics and is quite difficult to bring to bear on threats quickly. It is a mix of extremes, combining good mobility, zero survivability, strong yet conditional protection (in one direction), good firepower, and horrific comfort to create a tank that can be difficult to understand, but if applied with a deft touch is more than capable of reducing an opposing force to corpses.

The AMX AC mle. 48 leads to the AMX 50 Foch.

Player Opinion

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Good sloped front armour
  • Relocates easily
  • High penetration

Cons:

  • Vulnerable to arty fire, and wide overhead silhouette does not help
  • Weak sides get overmatched by 122+ mm shells and can't bounce those at any angle
  • Second gunner sits in the machine gun nest weakspot, easily leading to a reduction in gun handling even further
  • Slow aim speed, poor dispersion
  • Second lowest HP pool of all tier 8 tank destroyers

Early Research

  • Since the stock suspension can hold a lot of weight, players should equip the 100mm gun, upgraded radio and the top engine.
  • Then grind the 120mm to greatly increase alpha damage and penetration.
  • Lastly, the suspension should be upgraded to increase the top speed and traverse speed.
