Specifically, the mismatch in crew values caused by commander's 10% crew skill bonus. Outside of a crew of 1 commander only, 100% crew is a fiction. The client values, given for 100% crew, will normally be taken into battle with 110% crew skill members aside from specific functions, causing their actual performance to deviate from the expected client value. These differences are taken into account in tooltip boxes.

Spähpanzer SP I C

VII

AnnoG113_SP_I_C.png

1360000

The Spähpanzer SP I C is a German tier 7 light tank.

The reconnaissance tank destroyer was being developed by Hotchkiss and Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz companies from 1956 through 1962 in order to increase the anti-tank capability of recon tank battalions. A 90-mm anti-tank gun was planned to be mounted on the new vehicle. The project was eventually declined. The number of prototypes built is unknown.

The Spähpanzer SP I C leads to the HWK 12.

Player Opinion

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • The 90mm guns have 2nd best penetration and alpha for AP in tier and class and best penetration for premium in tier and class
  • Small size and good camo rating makes it a good passive Scout.
  • Excellent forward gun depression and good all around gun elevation.
  • High HEAT penetration.

Cons:

  • Slow top speed makes it hard to beat enemy Scouts to vision control locations.
  • Light armor is vulnerable to HE.
  • Light armor and weight make it extremely vulnerable to rams.
  • Sluggish, about as par as the AMX 13 75.

Performance

Either the single shot or auto-loader 90mm Mecar are usable guns. Try both and see which one best fits your personal style.

Passive spot at first, if able. Half Court spotting is possible on maps such as Prokhorovka and Sand River but full-fledged Active spotting is a no-no.

The SP 1. C was designed as a light TD meant to support recon units and it plays best as a light TD in game. After the initial spotting period is over, play as a light support tank as the battle progresses. Use your gun's good forward depression, small size, and good camo rating to your advantage.

Be alert for flanking opportunities, especially Flank-a-Boom attacks working in conjunction with team mates. Be extremely judicious when making Delayed Rushes or 1 on 1 attacks as you lack the mobility needed to escape bad situations.
