The Spähpanzer SP I C is a German tier 7 light tank.
The reconnaissance tank destroyer was being developed by Hotchkiss and Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz companies from 1956 through 1962 in order to increase the anti-tank capability of recon tank battalions. A 90-mm anti-tank gun was planned to be mounted on the new vehicle. The project was eventually declined. The number of prototypes built is unknown.
The Spähpanzer SP I C leads to the HWK 12.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Excellent penetration and damage per shot.
- Small size, good camo rating and high view range aid in scouting.
- Decent gun depression
- Can use an autoloader
Cons:
- Slow top speed makes it hard to beat enemy Scouts to vision control locations.
- Armor is too thin for lucky bounces and is vulnerable to HE
- Light armor and weight make it extremely vulnerable to rams.
- Sluggish for a light, similar to the AMX 13 75.
- Unusually slow shell speed
Performance
Either the single shot or auto-loader 90mm Mecar are usable guns. Try both and see which one best fits your personal style.
Passive spot at first, if able. Half Court spotting is possible on maps such as Prokhorovka and Sand River but full-fledged Active spotting is a no-no.
The SP 1. C was designed as a light TD meant to support recon units and it plays best as a light TD in game. After the initial spotting period is over, play as a light support tank as the battle progresses. Use your gun's good forward depression, small size, and good camo rating to your advantage.
Be alert for flanking opportunities, especially Flank-a-Boom attacks working in conjunction with team mates. Be extremely judicious when making Delayed Rushes or 1 on 1 attacks as you lack the mobility needed to escape bad situations.
