The AT 15A is a British tier 7 premium tank destroyer.
Assault tank conceived for breakthrough attacks on enemy fortifications. The design project was ready on October 5, 1943. No prototypes were built. However, the project became the basis for the A39 Tortoise heavy assault tank.
It was the first British tank destroyer to be added to the game. Nicknamed the "AT-AT", this tank is a slow moving warehouse, as such, it has good frontal defense like the Ferdinand and carries a fast-firing gun. While its alpha damage is very low, its reload time and accuracy ensure that no opponent wants to stay in your line of fire and risk being punctured to death.
The AT 15A received a buff in patch 9.4.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Many hit points and high armor for a TD. When angled properly and opponents are in front of you, can often bounce shots
- Good rate of fire, very accurate
- Very wide gun traverse arc, good gun depression
- Immune to ramming from most tanks
- Preferential matchmaking (tier 8 maximum)
Cons:
- Very low top speed and slow turning: very susceptible to being flanked
- Roof-mounted machine gun turret is an obvious weakspot (still ~150mm though)
- Prone to ammo rack damage, loader dies often (when hit in the machine gun weakspot on roof)
- Alpha damage is very lacking for its tier
- Poor gun elevation
Performance
The high frontal armor, while sporting great-looking stats, is tempered by a huge weakspot in both the large frontal plate below the gun and also the gun slit. This TD has very low hit points compared to the other British AT tanks. Angling is crucial to make the armor work. When properly angled, the front armor can bounce many rounds from Tier 7 and some Tier 8 tanks, which can be very satisfying in its own way. The wide gun traverse helps greatly with angling.
The gun is very accurate but very weak. Knowing weakspots on enemy tanks is crucial to having any success with this tank, as most opponents cannot be penetrated without hitting a weakspot.
Unfortunately, the AT 15A is slow and maneuverable, making it easy prey for artillery and flankers. The high armor on the sides and back won't hold up for long against even light tanks, as the ammo rack is easily penetrated. Keep your enemies in front of you and at a distance and always travel with allies so they can hold off flankers. Also, use hard cover whenever possible, as Tier 5 and up artillery can easily one-shot you.
The income generation for the AT 15A is fairly low for a Tier 7 Premium tank. However, note that the 8.6 release did increase the income - it used to be less than Tier 5 standard tanks. Also, the new 8.6 "Damage to Tracked" effect allows the AT 15A a brand new way to earn income against the many targets it cannot reliably damage by instead tracking them so allies can rip them up. However, despite these improvements the credit making still doesn't match other Tier 7 Premium tanks.
This tank is not recommended for novice tankers.
Note: AT-15A is going to be buff in 9.4 "- AT-15A premium TD now has limited MM, hit points buffed from 850 to 1050" ( https://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/10/17/9-4-test-patchnotes-and-test-eta/ )
