The FV4004 Conway is a British tier 9 tank destroyer.
The tank destroyer prototype was created on the basis of the Centurion medium tank. Developed for use in combat against heavy tanks of that period, including the IS-3.
This is a brilliant tank that if played well is extremely fun and rewarding. Use your huge dpm to patrol the first and second lines of battle, and you can rack up massive amounts of damage and kills. An interesting thing about this vehicle is that if you are Top tier, and there are no other tier 9 heavy tanks on either team, then you can perform as a heavy tank. This is because you have the hitpoints of a tier 8 heavy, and an even better gun than most of them.
The FV4004 Conway leads to the FV4005 Stage II.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Accurate, fast aiming, high ROF and great DPM
- Powerful engine allows for quick acceleration, speed retention, and hill-climbing
- No grind for gun or turret
- Gun mantlet can pull off some bounces
- Fast reverse speed
Cons:
- Tied with Strv 103 for The lowest hitpoint pool of tier 9 TDs, although one should get used to this as the FV4005 has the low
- Poor gun depression and gun elevation
- Limited top speed and poor hull and turret traverse speeds
- Generally poor armor, and also very large
- Terrible camouflage values
Performance
This is a very interesting tank destroyer in the fact that it's basically a big, slow medium tank with a very big gun. This is what it is and so this is how you should pay it. because of it's monster dpm it can perform very well in the first or second line of battle. This tank was designed to destroy heavy tanks, an this is what it will do in the game. Be aware of your surroundings as the slow tank and turret traverse are quite unforgiving. This is an absolutely brilliant tank, but only if you play it right.
Early Research
You don't need to research the gun or turret, making it a easier grind, similar to the Ru 251. If you already researched through the British mediums or heavies then you will already have the top engine and radio.
