Specifically, the mismatch in crew values caused by commander's 10% crew skill bonus. Outside of a crew of 1 commander only, 100% crew is a fiction. The client values, given for 100% crew, will normally be taken into battle with 110% crew skill members aside from specific functions, causing their actual performance to deviate from the expected client value. These differences are taken into account in tooltip boxes.

The FV217 Badger is a British tier 10 tank destroyer.

A project for a tank destroyer based on the Conqueror chassis was developed in the late 1940s. Existed only in blueprints.

Replaced the FV215b (183) at tier 10 position in British Turretless Tank Destroyers line. The FV217 Badger shocked anyone who faced it (or read its paper stats) with its listed insane frontal armor of 355mm. However, the 355mm of armor is only exists only at around the gun, and the rest of frontal is only around 210mm (and around 270 at view spots). If you just reading this sentence, you may think that this Badger are actually not so hard to getting whacked at frontal combat. Unfortunately for you. this 210mm of armor is decently sloped (Similar to StuG III) makes it had 300mm+ of effective armor. and it also had the nasty 123mm gun which provides highest DPM in the games as its claws. If anyone who brave or foolish enough to fight face-to-face to it, they'll get slashed to death with its deadly gun (unless that person drives anything that had armor as tough as the Tortoise)

Although it seem to be almost invincible at frontal, The Badger didn't had all-around protection like the Tortoise. Its side and rear is noticeably much weaker than the Tortoise. and its mobility is still sluggish, makes it became easy prey from flankers if it's alone.

The FV217 Badger marks the end of its British tank destroyer line.

Player Opinion

Pros and Cons

Pros:

- Fear factor; anyone who never see its armor layout before will try avoiding facing this tank frontally at all cost because its amazing frontal armor stat listed on paper at 355mm

- Highest DPM of any tank in the game (over 3500), can puncture any tank in the game to death in less than one minute if all shot penetrated!

- Although the 355mm of armor is only at around the gun, the frontal is well sloped and makes this vehicle had very tough upper plate effective armor values at around 300mm+!

- Great HP pool, especially for its size (2100)

- Great gun handling, fascinating aim time with great accuracy

- Great gun depression and elevation (-10/20 degrees) combined with well-sloped frontal turned it into formidable hill fighter

Cons:

- Overall raw armor stats is much weaker than The Tortoise; Frontal is only 210mm thick and it became very weak when going downhill, Even it getting rid of "Tumor" weakspot from predecessor, the lower plate is now turned into even bigger frontal weakspots

- Large caliber guns had a chance to penetrate its armor with the overmatch rules, makes its frontal armor somewhat unreliable when facing enemies with big guns

- Terrible side and rear armor, Less angling capabilities than its predecessor. angling also reveal the weakspot on side upper front of the gun

- Although its speed is improved from The Tortoise, it's still slow, combined with paper thin rear armor (only 38mm) makes it very vulnerable from flankers

- Worst penetration values of all tier 10 TDs, premium rounds also had below average penetration

- Much more vulnerable against SPGs than its predecessor due to very poor roof armor
