The O-Ni is a Japanese tier 7 heavy tank.
A further development of the O-I with improved anti-tank guns. The military command's plan was to improve the earlier models and achieve a higher level of armor protection on the vehicle. Existed only in blueprints. No finished prototypes were built and the vehicle never saw action.
The O-Ni leads to the O-Ho.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Very durable front & rear armor and highest HP pool in its tier (1550).
- Choice of two viable guns, the 15cm carried from O-I with faster reload time or 10cm gun with high penetration.
- Strong main turret and great gun depression are decent for hull down.
- Surprisingly good engine power to weight ratio results in good acceleration for its size, great for ramming.
- Great view range for its tier.
- Extremely easy stock grind as most modules except improved 10cm and tracks are carried over from O-I, doesn't have additional turret to research and doesn't need tracks to equip modules apart from improved 10cm.
Cons:
- The very biggest tank in the game with virtually no effective camo values; super easy target for SPGs
- Poor overall mobility.
- Very weak and huge side armor combined with mini-turrets & cheek weakspots makes armor unreliable, especially when angled.
- Both guns have poor accuracy, aim time and DPM.
- Ammorack is large and easily damaged.
Performance
The O-Ni is the next step towards the end of the Japanese Heavy tank Line. Having the most hit points at tier 7 (1550 hitpoints), it can take a lot of punishment and still fight back. The choice of two top guns is the same as on the previous tank, the O-I, with a small increase in accuracy & rate of fire. Much like all Japanese Heavies, the O-Ni feels right at home in the city, where it can use cover to hide its numerous weakspots and safely complete the long reloads. However, you need to take extreme care when sidescraping as your side armor is very thin and easily penetrated when over-angled, especially at the drivewheel. On top of that, the hull has angled "cheeks" which further inhibit the ability to sidescrape as angling will decrease their angle. Not only are the miniturrets weakspots, they also get in the way of the O-Ni's 10 degrees of gun depression, decreasing it to 9 degrees when aiming directly above them.
Early Research
Once you get the tank, you can choose to buy both the engine and 15cm derp inherited from the O-I. The 15cm is a good gun, but had lower damage on higher tiers. If you want to penetrate higher tiers, you'll want to research the Experimental 10cm as soon as you can, however, you cannot fit it on the stock suspension along with the upgraded engine and radio.

* In-game name is incorrect, it was one of variants of O-I and they all were "O-Is" along with O-I and O-Ho.
- This tank is based on the drawings from the book “Imperial Japanese Army Ground Weapon Guide 1872-1945”, which was pure speculation when first written. There are no official documents or blueprints of the O-Ni.
