Specifically, the mismatch in crew values caused by commander's 10% crew skill bonus. Outside of a crew of 1 commander only, 100% crew is a fiction. The client values, given for 100% crew, will normally be taken into battle with 110% crew skill members aside from specific functions, causing their actual performance to deviate from the expected client value. These differences are taken into account in tooltip boxes.

The Object 430 Version II is a Soviet tier 9 medium tank.

Developed at the Construction Bureau of Factory No. 73 in early 1953. From March 8 through March 10, 1953, the Ministry of Transport and Heavy Engineering considered the project, along with an alternate version of the tank with a more conventional configuration. However, the development was eventually discontinued.

A peer of the T-54, the Object 430 II is a flexible multipurpose medium. Sporting sturdy armor, respectable firepower, and good mobility on a small, well camouflaged chassis, the success of the driver will boil down to their ability to negate the clumsiness that comes with the limited turret and poor gun depression.

The Object 430 Version II leads to the K-91.

Player Opinion

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • High damage-per-minute with the 100mm M-63.
  • Thick, well sloped frontal hull armor.
  • Massive frontal turret armor.
  • Small stature and high camouflage.
  • Good agility.

Cons:

  • Has to make the choice between the bad gun handling of the 100mm D-54 or the low AP penetration of the 100mm M-63.
  • Slow shell velocity.
  • Rear turret with only 180 degrees of traverse.
  • Bad (-4) gun depression.
  • Mediocre acceleration.

Performance

The well-rounded characteristics of the Object 430 II make it capable in a variety of roles. Being both well armored and a small target, many tanks will struggle to reliably damage it. At the same time, the great camouflage and decent vision capabilities allow it to spot targets with relative ease compared to its larger peers. Finally, the cannon is very capable in all but the longest distance engagements. Unfortunately, while the slow shell velocity and middling accuracy push it towards closer engagements, the lack of fully-rotating turret, gun depression, and turret positioning will occasionally keep it from being as effective as it could be.

Using the 430 II to its fullest requires the player to constantly reassess the situation. Early into the match, making use of its vision capabilities can be critical to securing early control of key map points. Afterwords, it's often important to pinpoint a location where the 430 v2 can start doing damage of its own without taking much punishment in the process. This may come from bullying lower tier tanks with your frontal armor, going hull down against higher tier opponents, or simply punishing distracted opponents. Regardless, the 430 II must be played with some caution.

Early Research

  • Research the Object 430 II Enhanced turret.
  • Next, the 5TD engine should be equipped.
  • The upgraded 430 II Enhanced tracks should be your next target.
  • If desired, research the 100mm D-54.
  • If you have not already done so, finalize the grind by researching the 10RT-26 radio.
