Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Well-sloped frontal hull armor and very strong turret. Night invincible in hull down
- Side is covered with thick spaced armor that can absorb many shots when angled, very tough when angled properly
- Good top speed and mobility for its weight (40km/h)
- High alpha and decent penetration
- The gun, while having poor accuracy, has decent dispersion while turning the tracks and turret meaning that short to mid range snap shots are fairly consistent
Cons:
- Horrible accuracy at mid to long range
- Poor gun depression
- Worse alpha against similar guns with high reload time over 15s, resulting in bad DPM
- Low penetration with 317mm HEAT premium rounds.
- Hull roof can be overmatchable when facehugging tall tanks
- Very weak rear armor. Frontal lower plate its a obviously weakspot
- Low ammo capacity (30 rounds) with a weak ammo rack.
Performance
The USSR version of the Maus. The object 705A features a very good mix of armor, armament, and mobility. Its armor layout can resis even the strongest guns in the game, homewer, in order to make its armor work, its relatively weak lower frontal plate must be hide, or angled. Sidescraping in this tank will simply make it nearly inmune by all types of ammo except HE. Its main gun, the 152 mm M-51, has a nice gun handling and penetration for its caliber, but long reload time and certainly low alpha when its compare against other 150mm guns. In the hands of a skilled player and in maps that allows it to do its playstile, this tank will simply dominate the timing of a entire bsttle.
