The SU-85I is a Soviet tier 5 premium tank destroyer.
Along with the creation of the SU-76I, there were attempts to mount a 85-mm gun on the captured German Pz.Kpfw. III tanks. The vehicle never entered mass production or saw service.
The SU-85I was first released during patch 0.9.0 for purchase in the Premium Shop and became available for purchase in the in game shop in patch 0.9.2

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Gun with good alpha and the best DPM of tier 5 TD's (2132.8 DPM)
- Big and heavily armored gun mantlet
- Second best HP for a tier 5 TD
- Above average view range (20m more than StuG or AT 2 and 50m more than SU-85)
- Good camouflage values, best camouflage of Tier V TD's when firing the gun
Cons:
- Overall poor armor and very tall.
- Sub-par gun arc and depression
- Besides good plain mobility have bad power/wt ratio struggling to climb hills
- Rather bad gun handling, long aiming time and bad accuracy
Performance
This tank has a decent gun for its tier, having the best DPM in side of all tier V TD's, but as it is not terribly accurate, it should be played like a support tank, although sniping is not impossible. The penetration of gun with AP ammo is good enough to pen almost all tanks, with exception of some heavy's and TD's. Because the gun is not reliable enough to fire in weakspots from long distances, carry some APCR to deal with heavy armored tanks is a good idea.
Remember your armor will be penetrated by almost anything you meet. Use your good camouflage values to stay hidden, fire some shots at your unaware opponent, then use your mobility to move behind new cover. Do remember that you have excellent maneuverability, and can therefore relocate very effectively.
Because of the weak armor, and overall low survivability, Sixth Sense will help you to know when you are spotted. Since this is a premium vehicle, you can train any existing Soviet TD crew much more efficiently, due to the modifiers.
