The LTP is a Soviet tier 3 premium light tank.
A proposed light vehicle developed by Lieutenant Provornov in the summer of 1942. No prototypes were manufactured.
When the LTP was given to players as a free gift to celebrate Wargaming's 15th anniversary, it was used mostly by newer players who hadn't reached Tier 3 yet. This, combined with the LTP's somewhat user-unfriendly layout meant that the tank quickly earned a reputation for being cannon fodder. Players started giving it nicknames such as the "Learn to Play" and the "Leichttraktor Premium", poking fun at the tank's ambiguous acronymical name. Despite the tank's infamous reputation, an LTP driven by a competent tanker can be a deceptively effective machine.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Small size makes it hard to shoot at
- Large ammo count
- Decent front and rear armor with good sloping
- High hull traverse rate
- Good credit making ability (for tier 3)
Cons:
- Slow aim time (especially for such a rapid fire gun)
- Poor signal range
- Below-average hp/ton ratio makes for poor acceleration
- Side armor is thinner and mostly unsloped
- Prone to ammo rack damage if hit in the left side of the turret
Performance
The LTP has a number of features that make it difficult to play for those used to conventional light tanks. With a power to weight ratio of 15.45hp/t, the tank's acceleration is underwhelming for its size. In addition, the 45mm 20KL features average-at-best penetration and alpha damage. The tank makes up ground in the armor department. With 30mm of wedge-shaped frontal armor, it can bounce long distance and low caliper shots (especially with angling) surprisingly well.
This tank is best played as a close-range support tank. Alone against a decently armored, decently armed Tier 3 or 4 tank, the LTP's firepower and armor will be mostly ineffective. When facing larger enemies, it's best to use the LTP by attacking in groups. Also, while the tank is sluggish for a light tank, it's still fast enough to flank and circle larger enemy tanks. Take care not to be flanked yourself, as the flat, 20mm side armor on the LTP doesn't provide a great deal of protection.
It should also be noted that the LTP has the highest camo value of any non-TD tier 3 tank. Equipped with vents, camo pattern, camo net and binoculars, a well-concealed LTP can be a nearly invisible target. While its camo ability makes the LTP adept for sniping, its gun negates its effectiveness to some degree. The gun is rather inaccurate at range and its already so-so penetration ability also diminishes at long distances. Still, the gun's high rate of fire means a sniping LTP can inflict a lot of damage to enemy targets with sustained fire. Sniping well-armored tier 4 tanks almost always requires the use of premium APCR rounds, which is occasionally viable thanks to the LTP's credit-making ability.
