SU-5
SU-5
USSR | SPG | Tier IV |
The SU-5 is a tier 4 USSR artillery and it can be considered as the worst of the whole USSR branch by the players with lower skill. It actually is much better than its predecessor SU-26 due to its 3-rd weapon upgrade - 152mm mortar NM mod. 1931. including the highest firing rate amongst the Tier 5 artillery weapons, higher splash range, more damage and moreover the higher penetration value with which it is able to 1-shot IS, IS-3 heavy tanks. However 152mm mortar has one significant disadvantage - ammo count of 14 shells. Stock, it starts with the underpowered 76mm Howitzer, but you should have spent the effort to get the 122mm howitzer with the SU-26 and thus, can start with that. Research along the SU-5 tree leads to the SU-8.
