Links to Russian WoT-wiki

(from nisk's talk)

Hi! Please insert to Main Page this code: ru:Заглавная_страница. For example my edit. --Armor kiev 22:22, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

And more. Also you can hide block "Play World of Tanks now!" for registered users, add to Common.js:
function hidePlayNow() {
try {
var logout = document.getElementById('pt-logout');
if (logout != null) {
document.getElementById('footer-wot-link').style.display = 'none';
}
} catch(e) {
return;
}
}
addOnloadHook(hidePlayNow);

and Ctrl+F5 after save. --Armor kiev 22:57, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Editing User Pages

Hey, I was wondering if you can edit your own userpage. This wiki is a little different from what I'm used to over at Wikia (format wise) and I'm hoping that you can give me some pointers as to what to do.

Thanks!

DeadRaiser27 03:21, 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Certainly, just like you edited this page here. As far as pointers, really the best place to look is on wikipedia. They have extensive help sections as to how to edit and format pages. Most of what I've seen here "personalized" is garage lists with images. Just copy paste the parts you want from the pages that already have them listed (like the tanks by type or tanks by nation pages).
Entering this for example

Will display this
(not my tanks, just took a copy/paste from the medium tanks page and cut it down)

Don't be afraid to look at the guts with the edit button (or if a protected page the view source button) just don't save any changes if all you are doing is looking. --Jiri Starrider 18:47, 18 April 2013 (UTC)

Other language WoT wikis

I noticed that the official Vietnamese WoT wiki is located at https://wiki.wot.go.vn/index.php?title=Trang_Ch%C3%ADnh (it is directly linked from the official Vietnam server WoT website). Is there any chance this interwiki link is added, just like how the Russian WoT wiki is linked? Benlisquare 12:51, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

Also, apparently there is an official WoT wiki for the Chinese server located at https://wot.kongzhong.com/tank_recommend/wiki/ (hosted by Kongzhong, the company that runs WoT in China), however it is read-only and not user-editable (all content is written by WoT staff). Benlisquare 12:53, 26 April 2013 (UTC)
Both those wiki's are not run by WG. I am looking into getting he same kind of links we use for the Russian wiki for the Korean wiki, but the people (person?) who controls the back side of the wiki is in Minsk and is hard to get a hold of (he wears many hats, Wiki is low priority) --Jiri Starrider 15:50, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

Self Propelled Guns should redirect to Self-Propelled Guns?

Hi, I noticed the main site (https://worldoftanks.eu/game/guide/en/newcomers-guide/tanks-tactics) links to "Self Propelled Guns" (without hyphen). So I think the redirect should be added again (or the main site link changed). -- Bur 16:35, 30 May 2013 (UTC)

I'll let them know to update their link. --Jiri Starrider 15:35, 31 May 2013 (UTC)

SEA server

The SEA server is now officially known as the ASIA server: https://worldoftanks.asia/

Are you able to make the necessary modifications to the read-only "Game Status" template on the front page? Thanks. Benlisquare 15:09, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

Redirects

I noticed you have been deleting redirect pages, such as those of Panther and Tiger. The articles on those tanks are located under their long-form names, which are too complex to remember and type into the address bar, forcing one to use the search function. Note that the wiki is, at times, very slow, and even when it is functioning better, using the search is a needless hassle.

In my opinion, the short-form names (those that you can see in the Tech Tree, such as "Panther", "Tiger", and "Indien-Pz.") should be used as redirects to the respective articles (in the latter case, with and without the period).

Personally, I would add a whole lot of other redirects, too, to make using the wiki easier (obviously avoiding ambiguity - for instance, "VK3001" should not be a redirect, but a disambiguation page).

What do you think? Muad 02:24, 31 July 2013 (UTC)

Correct naming

Hi.

17:59, 9 May 2014 Jiri_Starrider:na moved page Tank:Churchill VII to Tank:GB09 Churchill VII: Correct naming

Can you point me to the place where this consensus was reached? I am not sure this is a good naming convention. --XXN:na (talk) 09:42, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
