On the NA and EU servers, the Type 59 was initially available in the store, but it was later removed and only occasionally made available through the gift shop. ?The chinese tank tree is a very interesting one historically, as it lets us see how the chinese tank industry managed to start from scrachh to become a worthy rival of its original source of inspiration, the Soviet Union.+In the 0.8.3 update, however, a full Chinese tech tree was added. The lower tiers are made up of French, British, Japanese, and American tanks, while tier 5 and up is mainly modifications of Soviet tanks, with the exception of some Chinese prototypes. The tree was planned to be introduced in 0.8.2, but it was held back after issues were found with the tier 10 heavy tank on the 0.8.2.1 test server. (Source: SerB).
?Not having any tank-building facilities at the end of the 1910s, China, who was still experiencing turmoil after the proclamation oof Republic of China, resorted to buying tanks from other countries, such as the french FT-17, a tank exported to a number of countries after World War One, or the Vickers-Armstrong 6-Ton tank, an international commercial success of the 1920s. It also used any tank who could be captjred on the battlefield, hence the Chi-Ha, one of the main Japanese tanks of Wolrd War Two.+
?The main helping hand was that of its then-ally, the USSR. The Soviet Union decided to offer the T-34 tank, efficient and easy to produce, to the newly formed People's Republic of China. Chinese engineers worked on several modifications on the plans of the T-34 and IS-2.+
?Later tanks, though still resembling Soviet T-10s and T-54s, are of original chinese design, adapted to their own tough environment.+
?Therefore the Chinese tank branch makes for a fascinating piece of history, as well as a fun and diversified tree.+

?Originally, the Chinese faction of tanks were supposed to be a minor faction solely represented by 3 premium tanks. However, the 0.8.3 update will bring with it a patchwork Chinese line. The lower tiers will be made up of British, American, and Japanese tanks, while tier 5+ will be mainly Soviet modifications, with the exception of a few Chinese prototype tanks. The tree was previewed on the patch 0.8.2 v1 test server, but was held back after issues were found with the tier 10 tank (Source: SerB).+

Chinese Light Tanks do not follow any doctrine up to tier IV, because they are not original chinese tanks, but captured or copies of other nations' tanks. However, you can easily rely on them to perform similarly to their models in other nations (i.e RenaultFT-17, T-26, M5 Stuart) Later light tanks are fast and and pack a great punch, much like the french light tanks, but they trade in the autoloader for much better armor.

Chinese Medium Tanks are, up to a point, very similar to the soviet ones, combining mobility and firepower, at the expense of a low rate of fire.

Chinese Heavy Tanks are also similar to the soviet ones. These tanks have good frontal armor and acceleration and faster rates of fire, which makes it possible to play them as "heavy mediums.
