The Marder 38T is a German Tier IV Tank Destroyer.

A tank destroyer developed on the basis of the Czech supplied Panzer 38(t) chassis; also known as the "Marder III". The initial version of the Marder 38T mounted re-purposed Soviet guns, designated 7,62cm Pak 36(r). Later models were equipped with the 7,5cm Pak 40/3. The vehicle entered service at the end of 1942, and was produced until the middle of 1944. It fought on all fronts.

A great sniper, the Marder 38T excels when it can stay back and safe, while providing precision fire support with it's accurate guns.

The Marder 38T leads to the Pz.Sfl.IVc.

Player Opinion

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Excellent Aim Time on all guns
  • Excellent gun in the 7,5 cm Pak 40/3 L/46; excellent aim time, excellent rate of fire, great accuracy, good penetration, good alpha DMG
  • Great gun traverse arc
  • Great View Range
  • Good Mobility

Cons:

  • Poor Armour; highly susceptible to artillery and High Explosive rounds
  • Small Ammo Capacity; when coupled with the RoF, can easily run out
  • Sluggish gun traverse
  • Poor gun elevation

Performance

Like the Panzerjager and Marder II that precede it, the Marder 38T is meant as a pure sniper, using it's excellent guns to keep enemies at distance, so as to protect it's weak armor. It has good mobility, and should not be afraid of relocating to a new position.

Keep in mind that the vehicle has an impressive rate of fire, but limited ammo capacity, so keep from getting trigger happy and make sure your shots are penetrating so as not to be wasteful.
