Image title Nach dem OKW-Bericht vom 4.11. hat das unter Führung von Kapitänleutnant Kretschmer stehende Unterseeboot die britischen Hilfskreuzer "Laurentic" (18724 BRT) und "Patroclus" (11314 BRT) sowie das bewaffnete britische Handelsschiff "Casanare" mit 5376 BRT versenkt. Als zweiter Unterseeboot-Kommandant vernichtete er insgesamt über 200.000 BRT, nämlich 217.198. Unser Bild zeigt Kapitänleutnant [Otto] Kretschmer nach der Heimkehr von einer Feindfahrt, wie er von dem Sprecher einer Propagandakompanie über seine Erlebnisse befragt wird.
