Commander Acquisition Changes

Several changes to the inner workings of Commander packs and the system overall have been made in response to your feedback:

  • International Commander packs will always contain new Commanders by default, unless you already have every Commander, except for Anton Gurin and Jerzy Swirski. Once you do have all the Commanders, you’ll start receiving duplicates.*
  • National Commander packs will always contain new Commanders of particular nation unless you have every Commander of said nation already. Once you do have all the Commanders of a particular nation, you’ll start receiving duplicates.*
  • Duplicates still award Personal Commendations.
  • If you receive any Personal Commendations for a Commander who is already at Legendary Rank 4, those Commendations will turn into Universal ones.
  • Your existing extra Commendations for Legendary Rank 4 Commanders will also turn into Universal ones.
  • Some of the Commanders will be available in the Shop in exchange for Commander XP at the price of 900,000 per Commander. Please note: this feature will be rolled out in phases, with phase one starting with several particular Commanders. Once we have confidence in the consistency of the feature, we’ll add more Commanders for you to acquire.
  • Any unopened crates received during previous updates won’t function according to the new rules, as their contents were determined upon their arrival to your account.
  • You can purchase particular Commanders for Commander XP as many times as you want, and get Personal Commendations to increase their Legendary ranks.
  • If you have any unopened Commander packs and receive duplicates without having all the Commanders of a particular nation, it means that you already have the remaining Commanders in those unopened packs. I.e. the system considers all the Commanders currently attached to your account, both in the Commanders tab and in any unopened crates.

Saving Transylvania

Our first ever Player-vs-Environment (PVE) battle is set to begin on October 26 and lasts for 9 days! The Operation is available to players who have reached account Level 7. Your task is to escort Transylvania through waves of enemy Zikasa ships and catapults. Your objectives are to protect her, defeat any enemies that stand in your way, and finally—destroy Rasputin, the "final boss." There are additional tasks to complete along the way, and these will be displayed in the battle UI. We hope you have fun and manage to save the day! Read on for additional details:

  • Man one of three special ships: the heavy Jackal, the swift Blade, or the well-rounded Igor. Help Transylvania reach her destination and neutralize the threat of Rasputin! Any XP that you earn with these ships will be transferred over to USN cruiser Albany once the event is over.
  • Henry J. Hide, Victor F. Einstein, and Abraham V. Helsinger (all of them with maxed out regular and Legendary ranks) are available to everyone as Commanders for the special ships, but they will disappear after the event is over. Please note that if you didn't acquire any of the Commanders in the previous Update, they will only be visible when preparing for the Operation. If you already own any of the event Commanders, they will stay as they were, and you’ll use the maxed out Commanders either way. Also note that the event Commanders have had their skillsets altered to best fit these particular ships, while the ones you might have obtained from the Campaign and/or the Shop have abilities that are best-suited to their classes.

A couple things to know about Transylvania: the circle around her provides repairs, and to make her move an allied ship needs to be within that circle. Transylvania has a set of waypoints, and if a defending ship or enemy pushes her off-course, she will attempt to re-enter that waypoint by turning in a circle.

There are several challenges as part of the mission itself. Complete them all in time and earn 5 Stars to get the maximum reward! Keep in mind that each ship has a role:

  • Battleships can significantly damage catapults with their AP shells, and help sink any enemies while protecting the Transylvania.
  • Cruisers are good at setting fires on enemy Zikasas, causing damage to accumulate over time and forcing them to waste their Damage Control Party charges.
  • Destroyers cause bulk damage with their torpedoes and also excel at scouting ahead and spotting catapults. They can set smokescreens to enable surprise attacks, or to offer respite in any intense or desperate situations.
  • All the Halloween ships have a single charge of Repair Party for those super-tense moments. Be sure to use it wisely.

Once you've finished an attempt at the Operation with one of these ships, the ship that went into battle will require a timed service of 30 minutes. You can either use one of the remaining two ships, or pay 75,000 credits to service the ship instantly.

To add to the the spooks, Halloween port will be your port of call from October 21st until November 4th. Each of the rewards for the Star rating upon completion will only be issued once, so do your best to get them all! You have two weekends and 5 weekdays between them in which to do so, starting from October 26th and ending on November 4th. The rewards are:

  • 1 star: 5 sets of Halloween consumable camouflage
  • 2 stars: 3 days of Premium time
  • 3 stars: 1 Halloween crate
  • 4 stars: 3 Halloween crates
  • 5 stars: 3 Universal commendations

USS Alabama

Our first ship available for Global XP is finally making an appearance. The unit in question is the mighty USS Alabama—a feared battleship with 406 mm main battery guns, great torpedo protection, and a top speed of 27,5 knots. She’s very hard to put down! Alabama costs 750,000 Global XP and is available from the U.S. tab of the ships screen. She's here to stay for a significant length of time, so if sturdy battleships are your thing, you have another goal to work towards! Please note that Alabama cannot be sold once acquired. Her XP earnings enjoy a boost of 25%, while her credit earnings are 15% higher than regular Tier VII ships.

Please note: as the ship is available for Global XP, she cannot be obtained by any player with an account level lower than 6.

In-game notifications

You’ll now receive notifications from time to time relating to your in-game achievements or particular milestones that you reach. We’ll also provide you with the latest news and Shop features. Some of the notifications are designed to inform you, while others will help you navigate pertinent sections of the menu. Please note that notifications about the latest battle results have also moved to the notifications bar.

Ship traits

This is a feature for newer players that concisely describes ships’ peculiarities with colored icons: Green for advantages Red for disadvantages White for idiosyncrasies—traits that are particularly unique and can be either advantageous or a hinderance, depending on the context

Please note: a ship that has no disadvantage icons isn't automatically superior to one that does. However, her disadvantages might be more difficult to exploit. Also note: traits do not affect any of the ship stats, but are assigned based on what the ships have to offer. The traits have been added to a new "overview" tab that’s available right after the loadout section.

Post-battle statistics

The post-battle statistics now include detailed economy stats and (possible) Premium benefits. Look for the "Economy" tab in your stats page after battles.

Miscellaneous

  • French battleships are now fully researchable. If you have any crates left over from the previous Update and obtain a French battleship from one of them, you’ll receive compensation in credits for her full value.
  • Leftover Thalers are compensated at a rate of 7,500 credits : 1 Thaler. Admiralty items for Thalers are no longer available.
  • Francs can be spent until the end of the Atago Campaign.
  • Some actions in the Port menu, such as mounting boosters and camos, are executed faster.
  • Added a filter to enable/disable Halloween skins. This doesn’t affect the visuals of ships in the Saving Transylvania Operation. If you have either of the skins mounted but still can't see them, please check you settings.
  • Improved the sound mixing when using voice chat.

Bug Fixes

  • Music being absent in Port after battle.
  • Inability to unmute players after they switch the voice chat off.
  • Missions showing with the "expired" marker.
  • Missing concealment animation for ships in smoke screens.
  • Inability to invite other players to a Division after disconnecting from and reconnecting to the game.
  • Rare bug that caused the UI to freeze upon ranking up Commanders and pressing "A" (Xbox) or "X" (PlayStation) multiple times.
  • Returning to the wrong mission card upon leaving a particular mission breakdown.
  • Torpedo aim spread showing as white (ready to launch) but not reacting to the launch command. This occurred due to the incorrect display of the spread for some ships.
  • Fixed several movement animations for the mission cards.
  • Restored missing icons in the quick command wheel.
