Crossplay

The long awaited feature is now here! Players from different platforms can now be matched in cross-network battles. Players from platforms other than yours will have a special icon next to their name on the tactical map, the post-battle screen and the player card/profile.

Cross-network voice chat will not be available in this version but might be added at a later stage. The Cross-network setting can be enabled/disabled in the settings. We created a new tab "network" and moved the account deletion there as well. For PS4 players the cross network setting is enabled by default. Xbox players have this option in their console settings but it should be enabled by default as well.

If you want to check whether this feature is enabled do the following:

  • Settings -> Account -> Privacy & Online Safety -> Xbox live privacy -> View details and customize -> Communication & Multiplayer -> "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live" -> Allow

Creating divisions with players from other platforms or adding them to your friend list is not possible.

  • Each season has a number of irrevocable ranks, that cannot be lost

  • Player with the highest XP earned in the losing team does not lose a star
  • No stars are awarded for receiving a new rank
  • Once you reach Rank 1 you are not able to participate in Ranked battles until the next season

When the season starts players will get a notification if the player has played ranked battles in the previous season and their best rank (of that season) will be shown in the notification. Also a new "Ranked Battle" card was added in the "Play" Screen next to "Versus AI" and "Standard". If you select "Ranked Battle" the first time you automatically enter a "season details" screen. This screen can always be accessed when choosing the Ranked Battle mode. The players rank in the current season (if a ranked season is active) is displayed in the menu and can be seen by others.

Also every player's rank is displayed in the team overview, on the tactical map and on post-battle screens in ranked battles.

New Maps

We can finally reveal three new maps that will enrich the location choice for high tiers. We hope that they will give an additional variety of maneuvers and strategies and will diversify the gameplay.

The Atlantic

Available for Tier V - Tier VII in Domination Mode and for Standard Battle. This map will be available in two different weather scenarios: a cloudy and an evening scenario.

Black Friday Specials

World of Warships: Legends could not miss the Black Friday craze. We have prepared very special and stylish content for this purpose. Meet the Black ships:

  • Scharnhorst Black
  • Warspite Black
  • Atlanta Black

You are either able to purchase these ships in the store or you have a chance of receiving them from the Black Friday Containers!

These containers will be available for 1000 doubloons and may include the following items:

  • 10 Promotion Orders
  • 1 Insignia
  • 1 Universal Commendations
  • 25k Global XP
  • 14 Days of Premium Time
  • 15 Sets of the Shadow Camouflage
  • 1,5mil Credits
  • 1250 Doubloons
  • Random Black ship

Note, that there's only a single position out of the aforementioned for each Black Friday container.

Tirpitz for Global XP

The Lonely Queen of the North is now going to be available for 750K Global XP. You'll be able to find her in the store and she's here to stay for the foreseeable future, so don't feel too pressured! What’s more, she’s not just back, she’s back with a vengeance! Check out the Tirpitz buffs in the Balance changes paragraph!

Port UI Improvements

The legendary port receives a long-awaited feature - a ship filter! It is available for all players starting at account level 4 and it allows you to filter all available ships by tiers, nations, classes and special features.

Each time you apply the filter you will also see the number of suitable ships. The list can be sorted by nation, tier, class and by last time they were taken to battle.

You can also have an option to add your ship to "Favorites" and have it displayed at the beginning of the ship reel. Click "Ship options" and choose "Add to Favorites" to mark it with the anchor and save it to the special list.

Voice Chat changes

  • The voice chat is now disabled by default for every player.
  • The voice chat tool tip will appear for players in every battle from account level 4-6 but will disappear if the player has changed the voice chat settings at least once (f.e. turned it on and off) or if the player reaches account level 6. If a player changed the settings in the previous levels the message will not appear again on account level 6.
  • When opening the tactical map the player will see a sector animation pointing to the voice channel management settings. Once the player reaches *Account level 6 this animation will be only shown once when opening the tactical map the first time.
  • Joining division will automatically enable voice chat till division is dismissed or game is closed.

Report Function

The report function became available with the last update but we've failed to mention it, so here goes! Players can now be reported via the player card and you have three different report options:

  • Player's nickname is offensive
  • Player is harrasing others
  • Player is "griefing"

Q: What is "griefing?" A: A griefer is a player in a multiplayer video game who deliberately irritates and harasses other players within the game (trolling), using aspects of the game in unintended ways, purposefully preventing others from either being effective, enjoying the game or both.

Balance Changes

Most of these changes are based on your Feedback. The Tirpitz and the Vanguard were a little bit below the effectiveness of their counterparts. Also both suffered from a vulnerable citadel what now has been changed.

Tirpitz:

  • Repair Party consumable's effectiveness was raised by 20% for restoring modules and by 50% when restoring the citadel HP.
  • The chance of receiving a critical hit to the citadel was reduced. Additionally the ship's draft is decreased.
  • Main battery reload time was reduced from 26 seconds to 25 seconds

Vanguard:

  • The fire chance of Vanguard's HE shells have been increased from 38% to 42%
  • The citadel deck armor was increased from 32mm to 50mm for both hulls.
  • The chance of receiving a critical hit to the citadel was reduced. Additionally the ship's draft is decreased.

Kaiser And Konig

On the other hand, both Kaiser and König showed too much combat potential compared to their counterparts. But without taking away their unique armor we reduced their overall maneuverability and reduced the damage of their armor piercing shells. Economics were slightly adjusted to not fall out of line with their close peers.

Kaiser:

  • The rudder shift time for both hulls was increased by 1.5 seconds
    • Hull A: From 18.3 s to 19.4 s
    • Hull B: From 13.0 s to 14.2 s
  • The maximum shell damage of armor piercing was reduced for both hulls
    • Hull A: maximum damage was reduced from 8300 to 8000
    • Hull B: maximum damage was reduced from 8400 to 8100
  • The credit income was decreased by ~5%

König:

  • The rudder shift time for both hulls was increased by 3 seconds
    • Hull A: From 18.5 s to 20.8 s
    • Hull B: From 13.2 s to 15.5 s
  • The maximum shell damage of armor piercing was reduced for both hulls
    • Hull A: maximum damage was reduced from 8300 to 8000
    • Hull B: maximum damage was reduced from 8400 to 8100
  • The credit income was decreased by ~13%
  • The experienced gained was reduced by 7%

Gneisenau:

  • Increased the experience earning by ~5%

  • Any Francs you have left on your account will be exchanged for 7500 credits each
