Dragan Bojanić, a veteran corsair of the Adriatic, has weathered more storms and sea battles than most sailors dare imagine. Rough-voiced and sharp-minded, he's spent the last two decades slipping past rival captains, dodging imperial patrols, and reading the sea better than most men read a chart. His ship is no vessel of one nation, but rather a patchwork crew drawn from every corner of the world. Dragan treats them not as hired hands but as family, and though his manner is blunt and his humor cutting, he'd sooner go down with the ship than leave one of his own behind. He always keeps a wolf's tooth on himself, its surface polished by years of withstanding salty winds. He believes it shields him from the spirits that haunt the deep and against the sort of men you'd rather avoid. Whether it's the tooth or his own grit, trouble rarely gets the better of him.
