WoWS Equipment Page

Hi. Where did you get the "shipstr" info you used on this page? I need to edit it because they renamed the Battleship version of the Gun Fire Control Mod. 1 to Artillery Plotting Room Mod. 1. Also, some of the descriptions have been re-worded. --Trifler:na (talk) 12:33, 13 February 2016 (UTC)


Llamaclysm has left WG for some time now, I doubt he'll be back to answer questions.

I think the updated strings are PCM028_FireControl_Mod_I_US and PCM029_FireControl_Mod_II_US, I went ahead and updated the equipment page to see if they work. I'm poorly versed in Ships stuff, so you'll have to go and check if it's alright now. All the equipment strings can be listed using {{#shiplist:devices|}}

Additionally, preset strings and test elements can be found in Special:GameDataTester. As far as I know Llama's user page is the only documentation we have regarding char strings usage, the rest is trial and error.

And yes, the complexity of all this is the primary reason why the Ships sidebar is still unfinished. I would finish it if I know what the code for the strings and their localization are, but so far I'm not having luck or motivation to work on that.

Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately it doesn't look like your change worked properly. Also, the text in front of the colon for all of them no longer exists in the game. Would it be ok if I changed it to simply have the descriptions typed into the table itself (as I had originally planned to do) instead of referencing those PCM codes? --Trifler:na (talk) 14:25, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
