Erie's page contains only outdated informations, many of which dates back to prior the Captain skill rework, so as to correct such outdated and faulty (by now) informations, here's what there's to know, about this little wonder of a ship:
Erie is by far the strongest Tier 1 Cruiser, while not the fastest around, or the most agile, she has two armor belts of 88mm, one for each side, in the central part of the ship; this armor belts are thick enought that no Tier 1 ship can hope to pierce since they only have access to Hight Explosive Shells, (or HE), and all other Tier 1 ships have lower penetration values compared to Erie. The Main Battery is the biggest of all Tier 1 Ships consisting of 4x1 152mm guns all in superfirng positions, that allows the ship to fire on the enemy without exposing the entire broadside, and to remain at a sufficient angolation to render life hard to whoever is trying to shoot at this ship; these guns have a reload of 6 seconds, but to compensate for this they have the highest penetration value of all Tier 1 Cruisers which is 25mm, and the fire chance is 12% which is also the highest of all Tier 1 Cruisers; the guns rotate 180° in 20 seconds, this speed is slower than most Tier 1 Cruisers, but faster than those found on the Italian Tier 1 Cruiser Eritrea that rotate her guns by 180° in 22.5 seconds; the rotation speed can be increased to 17 seconds with a normal captain, but with a Specialized Captain like George or John Doe can become 16.7 seconds. The ship speed is nothing to write home about, at just 20 Knots is faster than some Tier 1 but slower than others, she's middle of the pack, so to say, faster than those who travel at 19-19.5 knots, but slower than those who travel at 24-25.5 Knots. Also the information in the Cons that cite: "seems to loose her foreward gun often" is the wrongest of all, I played this ship for nearly 3 years by now, and I've never seen her forward gun get incapacitated or destroyed; the only incapacitations tha she can suffer are:
1) Rudder damaged if a ship, with sufficient penetration, gets a lucky shot at the rear part of the hull
2) Damaged Engine, but only in case of ramming with an enemy ship, provided that, the enemy ship manages to ram Erie on the side, because the 88mm armor belts efficiently protects the engine from all enemy ships HE Shells
The only parts of the ships that can get destroyed are her 4x4 28mm "Chicago Piano" AA Guns, but they're there just for show, since Tier1 ships only fight other Tier 1 and the first ostile planes that one will ever see are at Tier 4, where Tier 1 ships cannot fight, and even if the were able to, their AA Guns will never rpotect the ship because of the extreamly short firing range and lack of damage.
