Soviet arty

Just saw that the USSR SPG line is generally "Fairly accurate", strange since they're the most innacurate SPGs ingame. Also noted that they "generally don't do that much damage", also strange since they're the most powerful SPGs ingame.

Since I'm not sure what to think of this, I left a note on the USSR mainpage where I mention that their SPGs are very innacurate and do alot of damage, rather than editing the text and risking to wreck something that wasn't misstakenly put there (which I certainly hope it was).

As to accuracy, there's more than tier 5 and 6 arty in the USSR SPG line, the others used to be the most accurate in game until the French arrived. ;) As to damage, if you compare DPM on armor (i.e. non-penetrating hits) they're all actually fairly balanced, but since DPM is hardly a factor for arty everybody picks whichever stat they like to spin it according to their agenda. I'll stay out of it. --Snib 13:09, 5 August 2012 (UTC)

"the others used to be the most accurate in the game untill the French arrived" hmpf, hmpf and hmpf again, what about the Germans? I allways thought they were the ones you'd look at when searching for accuracy. "DPM is hardly a factor for arty" hmpf again. Since when was the purpose of arty NOT no haul as much explosives as possible onto the enemy positions? Why do you mention the main purpose of arty (which I for some reason seem to have forgot) and tell me its not important? When I make mistakes of such size I don't want to be told its ok.

Note: Also compared russian Tier 3 and 4 with US Tier 3 and four, US SPGs are somewhat superior in accuracy here too when comparing the top guns avaliable for each vehicle. Both the Objects on Tiers 7 and 8 are however quite accurate for their Tier, becuase of the use of much smaller caliber cannons used in these vehicles compared to the higher caliber weapons on SPGs of the other nations at these tiers. Russian SPGs on Tier 7 and 8 are accurate, but to write that Russian SPGs in general are accurate... I'd call it delayed propaganda.

Unless you're constantly firing then alpha damage > DPM. If the enemy aren't stupid you won't be constantly firing (granted, most people are rather stupid). Also there's the way splash damage is calculated. But as I said, your opinion is as good as mine and I'll stay out of it, anyway. --Snib 12:44, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
