World of Warships Anniversary

To mark the World of Warships Anniversary, we are introducing a new game logo and updated technical icons.

Festive Rewards

To celebrate the Seventh Anniversary of World of Warships, we're bringing back bonuses for your performance in battles playing all ships of Tier V and above. Players will now be able to receive several gifts per battle. This change will make it easier to receive rewards for owners of a large number of ships in the Port.

If you have 100 or more ships, you will be able to receive a standard gift for a battle fought playing a ship and additional gifts from ships in your Port. You cannot receive gifts on the same ship a second time. Without entering a battle, you can receive additional gifts from any other ship of Tier V and above that has not granted you gifts yet.

Battle performance bonuses will be available
from: Fri. Sep. 16 3:00 AM PT / Central: Fri. Sep. 16 5:00 AM
until: Fri. Oct. 14 3:00 AM PT / Central: Fri. Oct. 14 5:00 AM

Rewards depending on the ship tier:

  • For Tier V–VII ships, 1 Special Bonuses container
  • For Tier VIII–IX ships, 1 Special Bonuses container and 1 Rare Bonuses container
  • For Tier X ships and superships, 1 Supercontainer

The number of gifts you receive after a battle depends on the number of ships you have in your Port and the amount of Base XP earned in that battle. For example, a player with a Port fleet exceeding 300 ships will be able to earn four gifts in one battle: One gift for entering battle with a ship and three gifts for effective action in battle.

Contents of Special Rewards containers

  • The Special Bonuses container drops 5x Level 2 bonuses of one of the following types: +40% Credits earned for the battle. Credits +40%, +200% Ship XP earned for the battle. Ship XP +200%, +200% Commander XP earned for the battle. Commander XP +200%, +600% Free XP earned for the battle. Free XP +600%.

Seven Seas Collection

Another festive new feature is the Seven Seas collection, dedicated to the historical ports in the game. The collection will let you take a fresh look at familiar locations from an unusual angle and learn some curious facts from the history of as many as 16 famous ports. The collection items can only be obtained from the special Seven Seas containers, which can be earned in several ways, including:

  • By completing special combat mission chains
  • From free daily bundles

The collection consists of four pages, with four elements in each. The exchange rate for duplicates is 1:1. After opening 16 containers, you are guaranteed to complete the entire collection.

Reward for completing the collection page: 1 day of Warships Premium Account.
Reward for completing the entire collection: a bonus package for a Tier VII ship.

In a future update, the Seven Seas containers will be added to the Armory and be available in exchange for Coal Coal.

Warship Strike

We're adding Warship Strike, inspired by the classic game, to World of Warships! The temporary mode will be available during Update 0.11.8. Earn Strike Passes for completing combat missions, fight against AI, and obtain Festive Tokens.

You can access the mini-game via the Armory. You can pause ongoing battles at any time and return to them later, and your progress will be saved. Automatic completion of the battle is allowed. In this case, the AI will complete the game for the player. Players will earn rewards — Festive Tokens — for various actions in battle. You can obtain up to 5,920 Festive Tokens in total:

  • 4,320 Tokens for participating in Warship Strike
  • 800 Tokens in exchange for Credits Credits
  • 800 Tokens in exchange for Community Tokens Community Tokens

The Tokens can be exchanged in the Armory for valuable rewards:

  • Bonus packages for ships
  • Permanent camouflages
  • Economic bonuses
  • Containers with signals and resources
  • Credits

Reworked Operations

Operations (Scenarios) in our game has long been a battle type that was not very popular. One-time rewards for Stars, a restriction to one ship tier, and the impossibility of re-entering a battle playing the same ship without additional expenses quickly reduced players' interest. [no comment - Ed.] We've done our best to make Operations more diverse in Update 0.11.8. You will be able to enter battle playing a wider range of your favorite ships, researching new branches along the way. We've also added the ability to regularly receive valuable rewards for playing Operations.

  • You can enter battle playing Tier VI–VIII ships in any Operation.
  • The 30-minute restriction for re-entry into battle playing the same ship has been removed.

The final team composition will affect the strength of bots. Successful completion of secondary tasks will increase the XP and Credit earnings. Stars and one-time rewards in Operations will be replaced by daily and weekly combat missions. By completing these missions, you will be able to earn Community Tokens Community Tokens and Supercontainers.

In Update 0.11.8, we are bringing back three long absent and highly awaited Operations: The Ultimate Frontier, Hermes, and Cherry Blossom.

In addition, we are trying a new approach and replacing Operation of the Week. When playing on a team where your allies are selected automatically, an Operation will be picked randomly. This change will make the mode more diverse for those playing it regularly. You will still be able to select an Operation of your liking when part of a Division.

All of these steps are designed to increase the popularity of Operations. We will closely monitor your feedback and share the details with you.

You can read more about the reworked Operations in a dedicated article.

British Battleships in the Tech Tree

When Update 0.11.8 goes live, British battleships III Indefatigable, IV Queen Mary, V Tiger, VI Renown, VII Rooke, VIII Hawke, IX Duncan, and X St. Vincent will become available for all players to research. Equipped with torpedoes and main guns that do not have a particularly long range of fire, these new sea giants will show their worth at close– to mid–range duels. The Repair Party consumable they have on board can regenerate a significant amount of any lost HP.

The British battleships' HE shells have standard penetration characteristics. The AP shells they fire have a typically short British fuse time, making them less likely to over-penetrate and, therefore, more efficient against lightly armored targets. The guns have a solid caliber — up to 457 mm at Tier X.

Available consumables:

  • Engine Boost for the new battleships of Tier V and above
  • Defensive AA Fire for the battleships of Tier VI and above
  • Specialized Repair Teams for the ships of Tier IX–X

Ongoing Construction of Puerto Rico

The construction of American cruiser Premium Cruiser X Puerto Rico is underway. For completing the 25th shipbuilding phase at the Dockyard, players can receive Premium Cruiser VII Huron with a Port slot and a Commander with 6 skill points for free.

The Dockyard combat missions will be available to complete during Update 0.11.8 and the first three weeks of Update 0.11.9. The Dockyard itself will be available until the start of Update 0.11.10.

Changes to the Reload Mechanics

In Update 0.11.8, we've changed the gun reload mechanics when switching shell types. As a result, the effectiveness and versatility of the Gun Feeder Commander skill increased.

Main changes:

  • The Gun Feeder skill bonus to accelerated shell-type switching no longer requires all turrets to be fully loaded.
  • The reload indicator for submarines and ships carrying different types of torpedoes has been made consistent with that used for all other ships.

Ships now have a "minimum shell-type switching time" parameter:

  • With the Gun Feeder skill mastered, if you switch shell type when your guns are reloading and before the minimum time runs out, the gun reload time will not change.
  • If you switch shell type after the minimum shell-switching time has run out, the remaining reload time will become equal to the minimum shell-type switching time.

For example, let's take a ship with a 30-second main gun reload time. With the Gun Feeder skill mastered, the minimum shell-type switching time for any turret will be 18 sec.

  • If the remaining gun reload time is 19 s and you switch shell type, the reload time will still be 19 sec rather than 30 sec as it used to be earlier.
  • If only 5 sec are left for the guns to reload and you switch shell type, the reload time will roll back to 18 sec instead of the 30 sec it used to be.
  • If the gun is ready to fire when the shell type is switched, reloading will also take 18 sec.

All researchable Italian battleships will receive a separate 30% bonus to the shell-type switching time that will be applied even when the Gun Feeder skill is inactive. When activating the skill, bonuses are multiplied and become more effective. Speaking of Italian battleships, switching between shell types frequently is an important component of their game play. The bonus applied by default will emphasize this feature and increase the effectiveness of the Gun Feeder skill compared to battleships of other nations.

In Update 0.11.8, the value of the Gun Feeder skill bonus has slightly decreased from 50% to 40%, and for an improved bonus from 75% to 60%.

Brawls

Update 0.11.8 will feature four Brawls with Tier VIII ships. Round 1 will see aircraft carriers fighting in a 3 vs. 3 format.

Round 1

Starts: Fri. Sep. 09 9:00 AM PT / Central: Fri. Sep. 09 11:00 AM
Ends: Mon. Sep. 12 2:00 AM PT / Central: Mon. Sep. 12 4:00 AM

You'll find detailed descriptions of the new Brawls in a [ dedicated article]. Stay tuned for more news!

Armory

Premium Destroyer X Álvaro de Bazán, a fast destroyer flotilla leader carrying powerful artillery armament and similar to the Italian ships of the Capitani Romani class, will become available in the Premium Shop and Armory when the update goes live. The ship's main feature is eight 135 mm main battery guns that can use the Burst Fire alternative fire mode, previously available only to some superships. Due to her high speed of 40 knots, the destroyer can make sudden, swift attacks on enemy ships and deal a large amount of damage in a short time.

Torpedo armament is represented by two quadruple-tube torpedo launchers. Torpedoes have a good range but not the highest speed and damage. The consumables she carries are a classic destroyer set of Smoke Generator and Engine Boost.

The cost of a bundle that holds Premium Destroyer X Álvaro de Bazán with a Port slot, a Commander with 3 skill points, and a special combat mission providing +200% to all XP types will be Doubloons 34,950 Doubloons.

Three weeks after Update 0.11.8 goes live, the ship will become available in the Armory for Coal 238,000 Coal.
