In 1939, amid rising worldwide tensions, it was decided to continue building destroyer leaders and increase the number of Mogador-class ships to six. Destroyer Marceau was never laid down, and construction work was suspended after France declared war on Germany. If the construction had continued after the war, the ship could have received American 5-inch (127 mm) dual-purpose guns.

Marceau was released in the Forge on December 1st, 2025.

Destroyer - Marceau

Pros:

• Good HP pool
• Main batteries have great DPM, decent range and quick traverse
• Numerous torpedoes per side
• Decent AA for a destroyer
• Fast, with a 44 knots top speed

Cons:

• High shell arcs and slow shells makes aiming at longer ranges difficult
• Torpedoes reload slowly, deal low damage and have short range
• Mediocre HE penetration due to the small main gun caliber
• Lacks access to utility consumables
