The order for the WZ-132 tank was placed in 1964. The design was based on the WZ-131, but with the goal of enhancing firepower and armor protection. A few prototypes were built before the project was canceled in the late 1960s. All prototypes were destroyed during Chinese nuclear weapon testing.

Player Opinion

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Very good agility and mobility thanks to its amazing track traverse and acceleration
  • Great "on-the-move"-accuracy, especially with a Vertical Stabilizer mounted
  • Excellent turret traverse which allows for easy and fast circling or switching between targets
  • Sloped frontal armor can lead to the occasional lucky bounce
  • Unlike most tier 8 lights, you can choose a gun depending on your playstyle

Cons:

  • Very prone to module damage
  • Modules are very XP-expensive, especially the 100 mm 60-100T which rivals the XP cost of tier 8 heavies' top guns
  • Lacking gun depression
  • Worse hp/t than its predecessor
  • 100mm guns both have the second worst-in-class DPM (the AMX 13 90 has the worse)

Performance

A bit smaller, faster and stronger than its predecessor, the WZ-132 is sort of a medium tank among light tanks, combining firepower, agility and mobility. It is good or decent in all areas, but not excellent in any of them. It is suitable for all kinds of combat roles including long range combat (good accuracy and aim time), brawl (small profile and agility) and both passive (great camo value and view range) and active scouting (great speed and traverse.)
