One of 14 French destroyer of the 1920s that was the successor of the Bourrasque class. These ships wer built to address the shortage of modern destroyers in the French Navy. They featured new 5.1-inch (130 mm) guns and slightly larger dimensions. During World War II, the lead ship, L'Adroit, performed patrol and escort duties, but she was lost in May 1940 while covering the Allied evacuation from Dunkirk.
