European Destroyers in Early Access
Update 12.4 kicks off an event dedicated to the release of a new branch of Tier V–X European destroyers into Early Access.
V Muavenet, VI Stord, and VII Grom are available in sequential bundles for European Tokens. VIII Split is the final reward of the Premium Battle Pass in Update 12.4. IX L.Katsonis can be obtained via random bundles available for Doubloons. X Gdańsk is available to purchase for Doubloons at the end of a sequential bundle chain.
The Fjords Port has been decorated to celebrate the event.
Features of the New Ship Branch
- The ships are equipped only with HE shells with good damage per salvo. Starting from Tier VIII the shells have flat-trajectory ballistics.
- The ships are equipped with Smoke Generator and Engine Boost, and starting from Tier VIII, Surveillance Radar is added in a separate slot. This allows for dealing decent damage while staying back in a smoke screen, revealing the opponents' positions at the same time.
- The newcomers' torpedoes have high speed but low damage and a rather short range.
- The ships enjoy quite large HP pools but have average speed and poor concealment.
You can find more details about the Early Access in a dedicated article on our website.
The Return of Convoy
The Convoy temporary battle type is coming back to the game in Update 12.4!
In real life, encounters between naval forces were significantly focused on safeguarding or dismantling sea-based communication channels as those were used for transporting a substantial amount of equipment and other crucial cargo. The Convoy event tasks you precisely with protecting or attacking transport ships.
A list of changes as compared to the previous update:
- Convoy is now available on the Haven map.
- Bot behavior has been updated — transport ships will now change their speed to evade torpedoes instead of changing course.
- The battle mode interface has been updated.
The general rules of Convoy remain the same. Two teams participate in battle — one has to escort transport ships, and the other has to attack them.
- Players are randomly distributed among the two teams.
- The defending team has to escort transport ships that travel along a specified route.
- The defending team wins if at least one convoy ship reaches the destination point or if it manages to sink the entire opposing team.
- The attacking team has to sink all transport ships or their guards.
You can find more information about Convoy in a dedicated article on our website.
Pan American Cruisers
When Update 12.4 goes live, the Pan-American cruisers will become available for all players to research.
Pan-American cruisers are armed with 152 mm main battery guns that fire only AP shells with enhanced ricochet angles and arcing trajectories. The guns also boast a good reload time. Starting from Tier IV the ships are armed with torpedoes.
The main shared feature of the cruisers is access to Combat Instructions that become available from Tier VI. Upon activating, they significantly reduce the cooldown time of all consumables. To fill the Combat Instructions progress bar, you need to continuously hit a target with your main battery guns.
The ships have weak armor but good concealment. The newcomers boast a large amount of various consumables.
- The Repair Party consumable becomes available from Tier II. From Tier VI it's substituted with Specialized Repair Teams, which restores a significant amount of hit points, including citadel hit points.
- Tier IV unlocks the Short-Range Hydroacoustic Search consumable, while Tier VII brings Defensive AA Fire in the same slot.
- Tier V and VI ships have access to the Fighter consumable.
- Starting from Tier VIII the Surveillance Radar and Spotting Aircraft consumables become available in the same slot.
The newcomers are most efficient at medium- and long-range skirmishes. The ships can occupy an advantageous position on the map thanks to good concealment. Capitalizing on that, the cruisers can continuously shell their opponent to activate Combat Instructions more often.
Dockyard
The construction of battleship IX Daisen at the Kure Dockyard continues in Update 12.4.
Throughout the first two weeks of the Update, you'll still be able to complete combat missions and get Dockyard phases to obtain the main reward — IX Daisen. The Dockyard will remain at your Port until the release of Update 12.5.
Battle Pass
The new Update will traditionally bring a new Battle Pass with it. Earn Battle Pass Points for completing daily and weekly combat missions and advance through the Battle Pass progress bar.
The final reward of the Free Battle Pass is European Tokens and containers with rare economic bonuses. You can use these Tokens to obtain European destroyers in Early Access. The Premium Battle Pass will deliver even more valuable rewards, with new Early Access ship VIII Split as the final reward.
See here.
Repeated Battle Entry with the Same Ship
Update 12.4 introduces a new mechanic that allows players to enter a new battle with the ship that was destroyed in the previous battle without waiting for it to end. This will allow you to complete more battles playing your favorite ships per game session and accelerate the research of ship branches.
You'll be able to enter a new battle after your ship has been sunk from the Port or from the exit menu of the previous battle. The new mechanics won't apply to Clan Battles.
If you enter a new battle when the previous one is still going, you can use the ship even if you don't have enough Credits for post-battle service. The cost of it will be tallied up until the player enters the Port after ending all of the battles. There you'll find information about the results of all previous battles on the current ship. After that, you won't be able to enter a new battle with the ship until you pay the full cost of post-battle service.
Before each new battle, you can change the ship configuration, applied economic bonuses, Commander's skills, etc. The results of the previous battle will be based on the previous configuration.
Before entering battle, you'll get a notification in the following cases:
- A Commander has undistributed skill points.
- The prime time of a battle type has ended.
- You've run out of economic bonuses, signals, or camouflages.
Updated Notifications
We've updated the Notifications section. It includes three permanent blocks now:
- Battle Results
- Inventory
- Other
There will also be one temporary block. It will display notifications related to the game updates.
We've added a new type of message — emergency messages, which include Administration notifications, information about server reboots, technical works, and other similar events.
Tooltips won't be displayed for some actions performed by the player in the Port. However, they will still be displayed in the notification history.
The notifications interface has been completely redesigned.
Armory
X Gato will become available in the Armory with the release of Update 12.4. The submarine's main armament is represented by standard torpedoes with high range and damage. X Gato is also armed with acoustic torpedoes with high speed and good damage but short range.
The submarine is capable of reaching a high speed on the surface and offers fast dive capacity recharging, but that capacity is small. X Gato has a low underwater speed and mediocre maneuverability.
Among the sub's consumables are Hydrophone, Submarine Surveillance, and Enhanced Rudder Gears in separate slots. X Gato will be available for purchase in exchange for 28,000 Steel.
The following ships will be removed from the Tech Tree and added to the Armory:
