Remembrance of Ming's Past Adventure

Starts: Feb 6, 03:00 AM CET (UTC+1) / NA Central time (UTC-6): Feb 5 , 03:00 AM
Ends: Apr 3, 03:00 AM CET (UTC+1) / NA Central time (UTC-6): Apr 3, 03:00 AM

Join us in a special adventure honoring the famed Zheng He, a trader, diplomat, and explorer during the reign of the Ming Dynasty in China.

During the famed Seven Voyages of Zheng He, he traveled across the known world, even venturing to Africa at one point, bringing gifts from the Ming Dynasty and exerting diplomatic influence on faraway lands.

A new adventure inspired by his journeys will take you across the oceans of World of Warships and reward you with fame and riches along the way. Spanning a full two updates, 14.1 and 14.2, it ties together several smaller events, allowing you to earn interesting rewards including a grand prize — new Pan-Asian battleship Wows_flag_Pan_Asia.png IX Taihang! Sounds appealing? Then read on and let us explain how to get this magnificent vessel!

Just by playing the game and finishing the adventure missions, you’ll obtain the new The Ming Legacy flag, the Zheng He's Voyages patch, and a new currency — Adventure Tokens.

Throughout the whole adventure, you’ll be able to exchange Adventure Tokens for Ming's Voyage Tokens, which open up a whole new world of possibility. Mainly, if you are as diligent and persistent as Zheng He, you can get enough Ming's Voyage Tokens in the event through exchange and from Armory bundles for Free XP, Coal, and Credits to get IX Taihang for free! More of these Tokens can be obtained via random bundles for Doubloons&thingsp;Doubloons in the Armory if you want to obtain Taihang sooner, as well as all the other rewards available for those Tokens. These include the Chinese Treasure Ship themed permanent camouflage for Taihang, Commander Zheng He himself, plus Distant Voyages and Captain's Holdall containers.

Additionally, multiple events will take place during Update 14.1, and participating in them will unlock specific rewards that you can obtain using Adventure Tokens. These include thematic containers tied to each specific event, flags, camouflages, and even a full new collection with a Unique Commander as its completion reward.

The Finest Hour Collection and New Dutch Unique Commander Conrad Helfrich

This event is tied to the Remembrance of Ming's Past adventure.

We honor one of the most successful Allied commanders in the Pacific theatre with a special collection dedicated to his memory. His small submarine fleet inflicted heavier losses on the Japanese Navy in the first weeks of the war than the combined fleets of Britain and the United States, a feat for which he earned the "Ship-a-day Helfrich" nickname. He was present on USS Missouri where the Japanese Instrument of Surrender was signed, and the picture at the end of the collection reflects that historic moment.

All the collection elements can be obtained from the new The Finest Hour standard and Premium containers. The Finest Hour standard containers can be purchased with Adventure Tokens earned from adventure missions, and active players can get enough of them to complete the collection and receive the new Unique Dutch Commander. Completing the collection also will also reward you with the Finest Hour achievement.

Keep in mind that Finest Hour containers will be obtainable only during Update 14.1, and that you cannot obtain both the Unique Commander and Wows_flag_Pan_Asia.png IX Taihang for free.

More information is available in a separate article.

Battle of the Java Sea

This event is tied to the Remembrance of Ming's Past adventure.

The Battle of the Java Sea took place in February 1942 and was a pivotal event in the Pacific theater. Despite the valiant courage of the Allied "Eastern Striking Force," the overwhelming Japanese naval forces managed to secure victory after a number of intense battles.

Fighting some battles on the seas of World of Warships will give you a chance to obtain up to 5x Battle of the Java Sea containers for Adventure Tokens. These containers can drop ships that actually participated in the battle— Wows_flag_Japan.png IX Minegumo, Wows_flag_Japan.png VII Yūdachi, Wows_flag_UK.png VII Jupiter '42, and Wows_flag_Commonwealth.png VI Perth.

Several themed bundles are also available in the Armory and Premium Shop.

The Italian event in Update 14.1 has been canceled.

Early Access to Dutch Cruisers Continues

In Update 14.1, Early Access to our new line of Dutch light cruisers — Wows_flag_Netherlands.png VIII Jaarsveld, Wows_flag_Netherlands.png IX M. van Coehoorn, and Wows_flag_Netherlands.png X Utrecht — is ongoing.

You can still move forward on the progress bar during Update 14.1, and for this, you’ll need to acquire Progress Tokens. You can obtain them via random bundles or by completing a special combat mission with one of the new Early Access ships, but in limited amounts compared to random bundles. The progress bar offers the following rewards: the Statenvlag flag, Commander Hannie Schaft with 6 skill points, a permanent bonus package for Wows_flag_Netherlands.png X Utrecht, and the Unity Makes Strength permanent camouflage for Wows_flag_Netherlands.png X Utrecht. Wows_flag_Netherlands.png X Utrecht herself awaits you with a 10-skill-point Commander and Port slot as final reward.

Please note: With the release of Update 14.2, all Progress Tokens will be removed from your account without compensation.
