Also known as "Tierra del Fuego", Land of Fire features a series of long and narrow rock ridges that ships can use as cover. The west is open enough for comfortable battleship combat, while the archipelago in the east is frequented by destroyers and cruisers looking for closer-range combat and torpedo strikes. Resembling the North African coast, the island layout of Tears of the Desert tends to focus combat towards the southwest and northeast corners. Movement into the center from either spawn point is heavily restricted by islands, and ships with large detection radii that do move into the middle frequently find themselves under fire from multiple directions. + | The legendary white facade of the cliffs of Dover has looked over the final resting place of many a ship in the annals of history. In Update 0.8.6, a new map called Crash Zone Alpha appeared in the game for Tier VIII–X battles in Domination mode. The map has two versions: with three and four key areas, respectively. The map is also interesting for aficionados of Clan Battles: the “home” key areas of the teams are located quite close to each other, which forces the teams to reconsider their usual combat tactics.}} | |||

As its name suggests, Ocean is the simplest, most straightforward map in the game. It features absolutely no terrain, making it difficult for certain classes of ships to utilize some of their advantages. It does, however, allow for battleships to maximize their range advantage, as well as providing excellent attack vectors for destroyers with the capability to launch torpedoes from stealth. Aircraft can have a large impact on the battle given the lack of cover available for enemy ships. This map can be played in either three-area [[Ship:Game Modes#Domination|Domination]] or two-base [[Ship:Game_Modes#Standard|Standard Battle]] mode.}} | As its name suggests, Ocean is the simplest, most straightforward map in the game. Each map in World of Warships is designed to be unique and interesting while promoting fun and engaging gameplay. Most maps are restricted to certain tiers of ships, largely due to the speed and firing range of the ships that will play on it. Map sizes vary from 24x24 km to 48x48 km. It's worth noting that maps are not to scale with the ships. Ships are roughly twice as large than they should be; put another way, each map is twice as small as it should be. This is intentional, and was done to condense gameplay and avoid long matches in which players spend inordinate amounts of time just trying to bring the enemy into engagement range.
The maps listed below are divided currently into two types: Regular and Special. Regular maps are the ones most players are familiar with, as they feature in Random Battles. Special maps on the other hand only appear at certain times, or on special occasions.
Note that "Battle Tier" below refers to the tier of the highest ship in the battle, and not necessarily to the tiers of ALL ships in the battle. For example: a map with a "Battle Tier" of "9-10" can actually be seen by Tier VII ships if they are up-tiered into a Tier IX battle in which that map is chosen.

The map is designed for Tier VIII–X battles in the Epicenter and Domination modes, with three Key Areas. Battles will be fought in the harsh Northern territories, among snow-blanketed islands where the sun appears for only several hours each day. The map is divided into three parts:
- The western part is an open-water space with several large islands, providing good possibilities for battleships and destroyers to maneuver.
- The central part is also open water, but at the same time it contains islands that will allow you to find shelter from any fire from the flanks. Besides that, the location of islands and their landscapes make it possible to push through the center into the flanks.
- The eastern part has many islands behind which cruisers and destroyers can find shelter from enemy fire. This part is suitable for those players who prefer inflicting sudden attacks on the enemy, and who can skillfully make use of limited shelter.
