Battleship - Amagi

Pros:

• Good top speed of 30 knots.
• Heavy gun broadside.
• Fairly accurate guns with excellent AP, hard hitting HE and decent shell velocity for both.
• An AP salvo against an enemy broadside can potentially destroy anything.
• Good HP pool.
• Angling can bring about surprising bounces and/or mitigate heavy damage.
• While she is a battlecruiser, she has a turtleback armor scheme that makes her very resistant to citadels, especially at closer ranges.

Cons:

• Armor plating is vulnerable to battleship shells that catch her side.
• Slow rudder shift combined with a large turning circle radius makes it difficult to dodge torpedoes, although this is partly compensated for by her impressive torpedo protection of 43%.
• Main turrets often get knocked out.
• Rather high detection radius.

• Despite Amagi not losing much in the way of statistical success, her popularity took a big hit and many players suggested that her accuracy was very unreliable. To compensate, we’ve narrowed her dispersion ellipse a little, which should bump up the hit rate for her shells by about 6.5%.
