Das Fahrzeug war als schwerer Durchbruchpanzer gedacht. Der Entwurf wurde aus dem AT-7 entwickelt, beide Projekte waren gleichzeitig eingereicht worden. Es wurden keine Prototypen gebaut, da man den A39 Tortoise vorzog.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

• Good gun with high RoF, aimtime, and accuracy

Cons:

• Large hatch weakpoint

Performance

The AT-8 is almost the same as the AT-2 before it, but some complications. The same 203 mm of armor is there, but you have both the famously large hatch and the machine gun mantlet to try to hide. Also, you get to meet tier 8s. With average pen of 210 or more. With the BL-10. The AT-8 doesn't exactly get a speed boost, either. with 20 kilometers per hour max speed, the AT-8 is just as vulnerable to fast vehicles as the AT-2. Finally, the gun isn't impressive. It has decent pen and usable alpha, but it isn't exactly the beast.
