Una variante del carro ligero M41 con torreta alargada y un cañón de 90 mm. Las pruebas comenzaron el 5 de mayo de 1954. Fueron un éxito, pero el carro nunca entró en la producción en masa debido a la falta de interés por parte de las autoridades militares.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

• Great speed
• Decent guns
• Relatively small slithouette

Cons:

• Very thin armor

Performance

The T49 is a very unique tank in that it is quite fast and has very thin armor. You can play a stock T49 as a slightly slower Crusader. The 57mm gun M1 inherited from the M8A1 has good reload speed, but the damage is practically useless for taking on tanks above its tier. The 76mm AT gun M1A1 is much better, although it is outperformed by the Stug III G. The T49's speed outmatches almost all Tier 5s, which lets the T49 get to unlikely places to snipe. The T49, unlike any other tank, can easily be destroyed by HEshells launched by howitzers, greatly limiting its usefulness in front-line combat. The T49 is better suited to second-line fire.
