World of Warships offers players a smooth progression by introducing new content step-by-step. These milestones are represented by Access Levels in the Service Record under the "Profile" tab in the Port screen. By playing in battles, captains also raise their Access Level and unlock new opportunities as well as rewards. Below is a list of the most important milestones currently available in the game. More features, game modes, and content will be added with time. Keep a lookout!

Access Level 1 — Co-op Battles

Becomes available::

All players start their World of Warships journey at Access Level 1, which grants them access to Co-op battles. New captains will be pitted against computer AI-controlled ships as they discover the basics of game play.

Access Level 2 — Ship Research & Upgrading

Battles needed to reach this level: 1 battle, the required Training Scenario
Becomes available::

  • Research and purchase of modules and ships
  • Credits 1,000,000 Credits

Upon reaching Access Level 2, a player is granted access to the various national tech trees[1] in the game, allowing him to purchase new ships and also improved modules — such as range or hull upgrades — for existing ships.

Access Level 3 — Random Battles

Becomes available::

Access Level 3 allows a player to fight in Random Battles, potentially earning more experience and credits than in Co-op. In Random battles, players battle other players as opposed to the computer-controlled bots they previously fought.

Access Level 4 — Exterior

Becomes available::

Camouflage are visual enhancements to your ship. Fortunately, most of them look cool.
Flags are a different form of visual enhancement.

Access Level 5 — Signals

Becomes available::

Signals provide small but sometimes critical boosts to aspects of ship performance.

Access Level 6 — Free XP

Becomes available::

At Access Level 6, a player starts earning Free Experience (FXP). Free experience can be spent on unlocking new ships and upgrades as needed, and excess ship experience can be converted to free experience using DoubloonsDoubloons.

Access Level 7 — Economic Bonuses

Becomes available::

At Access Level 7, a player can acquire and use Economic Bonuses, both permanent and expendable, to augment earnings from battle of Credits, Ship Experience, Commander Experience, and Free XP. (Commanders become accessible at Level 9.)

Access Level 8 — Containers

Becomes available::

  • Containers
  • Four standard containers.
  • A Super Container.

Containers provide a player with additional opportunities to earn Credits, experience, resources, consumable items, and — potentially — rare rewards such as premium ships! Most containers are earned by acquiring regular ship experience in battle — up to three such per day.

Access Level 9 — Ship Commander

  • Commanders
  • 18 boosters +100% Commander XP earned for the battle.+200% Commander XP earned for the battle. Commander XP.
  • Credits 1,000,000 Credits

Access Level 9 introduces a player to one of the more important mechanics in World of Warships: Commanders. Just like the ship, the commander assigned to her also earns experience in battle, acquiring skills that further customize and improve a ship's performance.

Access Level 10 — Combat Missions

Becomes available::

Access Level 10 grants access to Missions and Challenges. These tasks provide additional rewards above and beyond those attained through regular battle, and vary from additional currencies, experience, and containers, to earning a brand new ship just for playing the game!

Access Level 11 — Upgrades

Becomes available::

Upgrades allow captains to customize and improve the performance of various aspects of the ships in their port. Ships can mount as many as six upgrades, depending on the ship tier, to improve survivability, stealth, weapons performance, engines, etc.

Access Level 12 — Campaigns

  • Campaigns
  • 12 boosters +40% Credits earned for the battle. Credits, +200% Ship XP earned for the battle. Ship XP, +200% Commander XP earned for the battle. Commander XP, and +600% Free XP earned for the battle. Free XP.
  • Credits 2,000,000 Credits

Having achieved Access Level 12, a player is able to participate in Campaigns. Campaigns are long-term projects in World of Warships, as players choose certain tasks to pursue towards unlocking an overall reward. Completing each task likewise awards Credits, flags, free experience, and more!

Access Level 13 — Armory

Becomes available::

  • Armory
  • Five 'More Coal' containers;
  • Coal 15,000 Coal.

Access to the Armory is a major milestone in World of Warships. The Armory is a central market where in-game currencies and resources can be exchanged for items such as ships. Check the Armory regularly for free gifts!

Access Level 14 — Operations

Becomes available::

  • Operations
  • 10 boosters +160% Credits earned for the battle. Credits, +800% Ship XP earned for the battle. Ship XP
  • Credits 4,000,000 Credits.
  • after 5 more battles: Doubloons 500 Doubloons.
  • after a further 10 battles: Free XP 10,000 Free XP.
  • after a further 10 battles: 7 days Warships Premium Account Premium time.


Reaching Access Level 14 grants a player the ability to queue up for Operations. Operations are challenging PvE (Player vs. Environment) encounters that pit a team of up to 7 players against a series of increasingly difficult AI-controlled bot opponents, while working towards a list of primary and secondary objectives. Rewards for top performance include camouflage, flags, commanders, and even Premium time!

Access Level 15 — Inventory Management

  • Inventory
  • 24 Hours Warships Premium Account Premium time.
  • 10 boosters +800% Commander XP earned for the battle. Commander XP, +2400% Free XP earned for the battle. Free XP
  • after a further 10 battles:
    • Free XP 15,000 Free XP.
    • Credits 2,500,000 Credits

The Inventory screen provides centralized management of ship modules, signals, camouflages, upgrades, consumables, etc.

Access Level 16 — Ranked Battles

Becomes available::

  • Ranked Battles
  • 210 mixed signals
  • Three Camouflages
  • Four boosters +160% Credits earned for the battle. Credits, +800% Ship XP earned for the battle. Ship XP, +800% Commander XP earned for the battle. Commander XP, +2400% Free XP earned for the battle. Free XP.


Ranked Battles become accessible to players who have earned Access Level 16. Ranked Battles provide a more team-focused experience over Random Battles, while granting unique rewards up to and including reward ships that are only attainable by playing Ranked games!

Access Level 17 — Clan Battles, Training Room

At Level 17, the highest level, a player can create a clan, enter Clan Battles, and earn OilOil for his clan.

Also at Level 17, a player may begin to use Training Rooms to hone his skills.

Notes

  1. A tech tree is an ordered set of increasingly powerful ships, branched by type (battleships, cruisers, destroyers, carriers) for a national navy. A Tier I ship is the base of that nation's tech tree.
  2. A player at an Access level below 17 can join a clan if invited.
