Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Retains good mix of armament found in the 110 B
- Top autocannons are better than the Fw 57's
- Like its predecessor, has among the best service ceilings for its tier
- can equip a dual machine gun rear turret
- Has option between 4 small bombs or 2 large bombs
Cons:
- Still retains terrible turn time
- Despite improvements in armament, weaponry scales terribly.
- Rear Turret does negligible damage, practically useless.
- Barely better overall performance than 110 B
- Generally considered the worst tier 5 tech tree HF in the game.
Performance
The description of this plane sums up its in game performance surprisingly well. The 110 E feels more like a forced upgrade of the 110 B, armament, speed, HP and altitude are all improved, but only by enough to just get by as a tier 5 heavy fighter. While the 110 E does get some help in the form of an additional equipment slot as a period II aircraft, and access to boost injection equipment, the plane still does not nearly have enough going for it stock to do fairly well.
Like the 110 B, the rear turret is only there as a placebo. It doesn't do very much damage by itself and shouldn't be expected to take down any aircraft unless they are practically critically low on HP. Just like with the 110 B, never get into a turnfight with the 110 Emil, especially as a tier 5 as both American and British heavy fighters in the Emil's own tier can actually out-turn it - which is the crippling factor to the 110 Emil on top of its still not that great engine power for its weight. Oddly enough, players should be even more careful in the 110 E than they were in the 110 B, especially considering the sizeable jump in performance between tier 5 and tier 6 heavy fighters.
This plane - while awful in most respects - has a silver lining in that it is the only truly poor Heavy fighter in the German line - Each aircraft that succeeds the 110 E is at least good, if not excellent, and the Me 410 is an easy fan favorite.
