Le 4TP est un char léger Polonais de rang 1.

Le développement d'un nouveau char léger pour les besoins de l'armée polonaise débuta en 1935 à Państwowe Zakłady Inżynieryjne (PZInż) sous la supervision de l'ingénieur Edward Habich. Les développements étrangers eurent un grand impact sur la construction de ce nouveau char léger. Il était basé sur le Vickers Carden Loyd Commercial Light Tank britannique de 4 tonnes. La conception technique fut développée en décembre 1936 et le premier prototype du char PZInż.140 fut fabriqué. Ce véhicule subit des essais d'automne 1937 au printemps 1939, mais ne fut jamais produit en série.

Le 4TP mène au au 7TP.
