STA-1
The first Japanese post-war tank was developed on the basis of U.S. vehicles. The STA-1 was developed, taking into consideration Japanese terrain, rail network specifications, and anthropometric data of Japanese tankers. Only one prototype was built, in December 1956.

Performance
The STA-1 is potentially one of the most devastating Tier 8 medium tanks. Its proper play style is a mix of the Pershing's agile, flanking harasser, hull down peek-a-booing style, and the Centurion I's precise sniping. STA's second gun is more than decent for a tier 8 medium, and its top gun is one of the best, most enjoyable medium tank guns at tier 8, on par with the Centurion's cannon. With the 90mm gun Type 61 the tank turns into a devastating, all-around medium, and one of the best sniper support of the game.
