Chikuma — Japanese Tier II cruiser.

Diseñado como parte de un programa para crear una «flota de alta velocidad» usando la tecnología punta de la época. El primero en Japón y uno de los primeros cruceros ligeros del mundo en equiparse con una propulsión a turbina. El barco portaba un armamento decente y tenía una gran velocidad para su época.

Pros:

Incredible armor for its tier.
Fastest current Tier 2 cruiser at 26.4kts.
Gun range is good before the upgrade.

Cons:

Despite its speed the Maneuverability is poor.
Has less concealment than the Chester.
AA Guns are practically useless and will often get knocked out with a single shell anyway.
Is prone to getting its engine knocked out in battle.
Stock hull gives only a 3 gun broadside
Guns have a slow reload time for its caliber

Research

Get the Hull type b upgrade first to add 2 guns to your full broadside.

Follow that by the gun fire control system for increased gun range.
