The Panhard EBR 90 is a French tier 9 light tank.
In the early 1960s, the 75 mm caliber guns were deemed outdated. During 1963 and 1964, a total of 650 vehicles with FL 11 turrets were re-equipped with 90 mm guns to improve their firepower. The other vehicles with the same turret and "outdated" guns were removed from service in the French Army.
The Panhard EBR 90 leads to the Panhard EBR 105.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Incredible mobility -- very high speed limit and power for its little weight
- Improved overall handling compared to its predecessor, both maneuverability- and firepower-wise
- Has four axles -- harder to immobilize than previous armored cars
- Its oscillating turret and sleeker body proves to be a somewhat smaller target
- Has 40mm sloped front armor; may cause some trolly zero-damage shots
Cons:
- Oscillating turret has limited gun vertical traverse, identical to the AMX-13's
- 90mm guns become less useful due to limited penetration and unimpressive alpha damage for a tier IX
- View range is still horribly low at 330m
- Lengthy hull can be unwieldy in confined spaces or close quarters
Performance
The EBR 90 can be considered a large improvement over its predeccesor, the Lynx 6x6.
Its firepower does not improve much, however - its dispersion is significantly more usable, along with somewhat faster aim time and reload speeds.
The survivability of the EBR, however, has improved. Its Health is somewhat closer to average, but its armor has improved drastically; while still very poor, it can sometimes have lucky ricochets with guns of caliber of 120mm or lower, and is somewhat less vulnerable to High-Explosive. Its wheels are also much larger; significantly increasing the chances of a wheel absorbed shot.
The mobility has improved in notable ways as well; the weight is somewhat higher, but the hp/t is around 6 better than its predecessor, along with vastly improved turning. Like all wheeled vehicles however, it is also fast in reverse; this time being as fast in reverse, like the AMD 178B or EBR 75 FL 10.
However, it has its downsides.
While improved, the view range is still extremely low at 330 which is around tier III levels. However, it does have somewhat increased concealment over its predecessor; while it is longer, it is also lower and possibly slightly less wide.
While the firepower of the Lynx 6x6 was once impressive for its tier, it is nearly the same gun uptiered, with slightly better reload time (decently improved dispersion and aim time, though). The alpha damage and penetration are more comparable to a tier VII Tank Destroyer; while this was great for a tier VIII wheeled vehicle, it is mediocre ish at tier IX - the start of where the wheeled vehicle penetration starts becoming mediocre for its tier.
Overall, it is a good vehicle, even though it was nerfed. But it isn't just pressing w and winning - it must be properly played, or else risk certain death.
Early Research
To begin with, this vehicle is among the ranks of those few high tier vehicles that perform great even freshly purchased; one could actually choose not to upgrade anything at all and still be able to advance into the EBR 105 with ease. That being said, it could still use these upgrades:
Suspension: The upgraded wheels, as per usual, improve turning characteristics and makes it a bit harder to immobilize. Further they are required to mount full equipment.
Engine: The Panhard 12H 6000 mle. 63 produces 80 more horsepower for an impressive five points of increased power-to-weight ratio and is required to be researched to move to the T10.
Radio: Research, if one hasn't done it on earlier vehicles.
The D. 921 gun however, can be dubious: it improves the aim time, RoF and accuracy by only a really minor amount, however at the expense of having a very slow HEAT round, and it costs 43k experience.

Service History
Portugal ordered 50 EBRs and 28 ETTs in 1956.[4] After the outbreak of the Portuguese Colonial War, most of these vehicles were sent to Lisbon's African colonies for counter-insurgency operations, especially Portuguese Mozambique. During the Carnation Revolution, an EBR 75 FL10 of the Armed Forces Movement confronted an M47 Patton crewed by loyalist troops in the Praça do Comércio. The crews of both vehicles eventually stood down without incident.
Aside from Portugal and a few newly emerging Francophone states in North Africa, the only export sales of the EBR were a few small quantities produced for the Indonesian Army and the West German Bundesgrenzschutz.*

Historical Accuracy Errata
*Turret of tier IX vehicle is incorrect. This turret was made for 1951 version, were's armed by 75mm cannon. 90 mm version using FL-12 Turret
- Vehicle in game is much slower than reality. Real top speed is 105 kph, not 65 kph.
- 90mm F3 gun is incorrect.
- HEAT round on F3 gun is missing. AP and APCR rounds are fake.
- Correct gun, 90mm F2 gun, is missing.
- F3 gun is same gun on ARL 44, and AMX M4 Mle. 1945, but penetration is inconsistent..
