Specifically, the mismatch in crew values caused by commander's 10% crew skill bonus. Outside of a crew of 1 commander only, 100% crew is a fiction. The client values, given for 100% crew, will normally be taken into battle with 110% crew skill members aside from specific functions, causing their actual performance to deviate from the expected client value. These differences are taken into account in tooltip boxes.

The AMX 13 105 is a French tier 10 light tank.

A variant of the AMX 13 developed in the late 1950s. The FL 12 turret adjusted for a 105-mm gun was mounted on the vehicle. The new variant of the AMX 13 did not see service in the French army, but was exported to other countries; the vehicle was produced in Argentina under a license. Despite the firepower was improved, the new design had several disadvantages. For example, a greater recoil saw turrets crack sometimes.

Essentially an AMX 13 carrying an oversized cannon. With its 3-shot autoloader, it can unleash nearly 1200 damage per clip. But this tank has a few downsides because of the gun itself, so play this tank carefully.

The AMX 13 105 marks the end of its French light line.

Player Opinion

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • 3-shot autoloader with good burst damage & reasonable clip reload
  • Good aim time for a French autoloader
  • Good gun depression
  • Very good top speed & excellent acceleration
  • Outstanding camouflage value

Cons:

  • No armor to speak of
  • Bad gun elevation
  • Bad accuracy & gun handling
  • Poor view range for a Tier 10 scout
  • Limited ammo capacity

Performance

Think of it as a miniaturized B-C 25t) with less shells in the magazine.

At 68km/h, it's not the fastest thing out there. Avoid active scouting early in the match, especially if there's another Tier X light, which will be better suited. You should instead cover the path ahead for your Heavy Tanks advance while your artillery & tank destroyers pounce on enemy clusters.

As most French autoloading vehicles, it is capable of dealing a consistent amount of damage, but it's not really good at receiving it. Furthermore, it can't mount a gun rammer, which in turn means you get a "free" slot. It is recommended to maximize your view range through coated optics & binocs so you can discover enemy columns while passively spotting (something you ought to do due).

Enemies that venture too close will find themselves surprised with your superior burst of almost 1200HP, only to find out that along with their HP, you too have evaporated elsewhere to reload & pick off on your next prey. Always hit & run!

As the battle progresses &, hopefully, you still have some HP, you can feel free to target lone vehicles or hunt for the SPGs & Tank Destroyers. Remember that a Light Tank's value increases as the battle goes on, even more so when it has a good gun like the AMX 13 105 does. The accuracy might not be much, but if you play it right, you won't have to rely on it.

While fighting in this vehicle, keep in mind it's vertical guidance is somewhat restricted, being an oscillating turret.

Historical Accuracy Errata

The following are consensus errors or inconsistencies which have been identified with the configuration of the vehicle in question and conflict with information available on the public record. The causes for these divergences in the game are normally not disclosed and may be rooted in game balance.

The SOFAM 8 Gxb engine is considerably more powerful than in reality, with a whopping 600 hp compared to the historical 250.
  • HEAT is actually the standard ammunition of the 105 mm D. 1504 gun. Other historical ammunition types were smoke, HE and APFSDS. The APCR round is fake.
  • Same engine as the AMX 13 105 AM mle. 50, yet the horsepower & chance of fire on impact are inconsistent.
  • The 105 mm D. 1504 is the same gun on the Bat.-Châtillon 25 t, yet the penetration & weight values are inconsistent.
