The 40TP Habicha is a Polish tier 6 medium tank.
In the middle of 1939, Edward Habich designed several projects of vehicles considering the experience of German and Soviet engineers. One of these projects involved the Horstmann suspension, 60 mm sloped armor, a small German turret, and a gun that featured high penetration and low recoil. Thus, Habich developed a vehicle that combined the features of the Pz.Kpfw.IV German medium tank and the T-34 Soviet medium tank. Development was discontinued, as Poland was invaded in 1939.
The 40TP Habicha leads to the 45TP Habicha.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Good alpha for it's tier
- Minus 8 Degrees of gun depression
- Turret armor can be trollish sometimes and it can bounce some low tier hits
- Pretty ok reverse speed
Cons:
- Horrible stock grind
- Bad accuracy and gun handling
- Low damage per minute
- ABYSMAL power/weight ratio (worse than lot of heavy tanks, even with the top engine)
- Very small radio range
Performance
The 40TP is really hugely slower than the previous 25TP, it is a medium tank only for his theoretical top speed, practically is a slow heavy tank (in regards to about the p/w ratio, not the armor). It hardly ever reaches it's top speed and only when going down hill it reaches a good speed, because of the bad terrain resistances. It's low speed doesn't get you easily out of trouble, so it is important that you choose wisely at the start of the battle, where to go. You can't rely on it's armor and the gun is not easy to handle, so it should be played as a support tank. Make sure you have allies with you and fire at enemies when they reload or are not looking at you. Try to make use of it's good gun depression angles and the good alpha of the gun, to out-trade lower tier enemies. Watch out for artillery fire, as you are an easy snack for them.
Early Research
You can mount the RKB C radio (if you researched it) from the 25TP straight away as well as the 75 mm wz.36/37 gun. Buy some Enhanced Torsion Bars, then go for the turret; it has increased armor and view range, and will help on lowering the reload time for the 90mm top gun. Then research the top gun, and in the end the last engine; it will give you some needed power to get to speed faster. Skip the tracks and save the xp for the next tank in the line.
