The 122 TM is a Chinese tier 8 premium medium tank.
During the Soviet-Chinese border conflict in 1969, Chinese forces captured a Soviet T-62, which had a significant impact on the development of the 122 TM. In autumn 1970, two prototypes were manufactured featuring additional armament: four anti-tank missiles on the turret's sides and a double-barreled DShK machine gun on the gunner's hatch. During trials in 1971–1973, the construction proved faulty, leading to development being discontinued in 1974.
The 122 TM can be obtained from the 2021 Lunar Challenge, as well as the special chapter in the test server.

Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Excellent alpha damage, accuracy, penetration, and shell velocity
- Very strong turret face and reasonably well-armored upper glacis
- Very good gun depression for a Chinese tank (-8 degrees)
Cons:
- Awful DPM, very long reload
- Awful on the move gun handling
- Prominent turret cupolas, obvious weakspots
- Slow, mobility is overall sluggish
- Poor viewrange
Performance
One of the oddest mediums at tier.
The 122TM boasts not only one of the best turrets at tier, but also the hands-down best medium tank cannon at tier - featuring very high penetration, velocity, accuracy and alpha damage. Combined with an unusual for Chinese tanks -8 degrees of gun depression, it is an amazing hulldown vehicle.
However, high ground resistances and average power-to-weight ratio means it is fairly slow, going on average 40 km/h compared to the listed 50. In addition, the gun handling is poor, and the DPM is horrible.
In spite of crippling drawbacks, the 122TM is a very good tank at T8, and is also good for credit making.
