Player Opinion
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Very fast intra-clip reload of only 1,5 seconds
- Ridiculous burst damage with HESH (premium) ammo (1960 average if all shots penetrate)
- HESH (premium) ammo have decent penetration and good shell velocity
- Decent frontal hull and turret armor
- Great gun depression (-10 degrees)
Cons:
- Very long magazine reload
- Very poor aim time, poor on the move dispersion
- Poor gun elevation
- Poor top speed
- Very expensive to play, due to heavy reliance on premium ammunition
Performance
The Cobra has been dubbed as one of the most toxic tanks in the game thanks to a clip that can deal almost 2000 damage if one uses the HESH rounds. With a 1.5 second intraclip reload, you do not have to remain exposed for long. The HESH shells' 210mm of penetration is enough to make most tanks suffer especially in a flanking manoeuvre, but RNG will always play a role.
The HEAT shells, with their 268mm of penetration, are more reliable in terms of pure penetration, but have a painfully slow shell velocity (793m/s).
While one may want to run around with the HESH shells for most of the game, players need to keep in mind that in that scenario it is a VERY expensive tank to play. The pleasure that one obtains from deleting enemy tanks can arguably make up for it though.
The reload time for a full clip (about 45 seconds) can be offputting, so one must make each clip count. Learn to read the battle flow and mini map before committing to a reload.
Mobility-wise, it isn't terribly slow, but it isn't terribly quick either. Slapping on a Turbo would help in that aspect to some degree.
