During the Balkan Wars, he led a French squadron in that region. In early 1915, the admiral's squadron operated in the Middle East, imposing the blockade of the coast of Syria. Not only did the ships of Dartige du Fournet in this region take part in engagements with the Turkish fleet, but also saved Armenian refugees. The highlight of the admiral's career was him being appointed as commander of the most powerful unit of the French Navy operating in the Aegean Sea-The First Naval Army. |
