Orkan — European special premium Tier VIII destroyer.

M-class destroyer HMS Myrmidon was laid down at the Fairfield shipyard in Scotland in December 1939, launched in March 1942, and commissioned on November 18, 1942. On the day of her commissioning, the ship was solemnly handed over to a Polish crew, and the destroyer received the name of "ORP Orkan." The ship served in the Arctic, participating in the escort of northern convoys. On October 8, 1943, while escorting convoy SC-143, Orkan was hit by a torpedo from German submarine U-378 and sank within minutes.

Player Opinion

Pros:

Over 1.5km of stealth radar means you can ambush enemy destroyers if you position well and have good map awareness
Quick reloading, 76 knot torpedoes with 12km range
Super narrow spreads allow precise torpedo strikes
5.9km stealth when fully built
Incredible forward firing angles, with all guns firing at 20° off the bow
Dual Purpose main guns means you will almost always have some defense against carrier strikes
Heal that allows a maximum of 2,220 HP per heal when fully specced, giving a possible health pool of 27,300 (15,700 + SE + SI + 4 heals)

Cons:

Dual purpose AA guns are not able to protect from carrier strikes due to the lack of Defensive Fire
No smoke combined with lackluster AA makes Orkan an excellent target for CV players
Lack of smoke also limits Orkan's ability to disengage when combined with her handling
Handling is mediocre, with fairly sluggish turning and 35 knot base speed
Single 102mm secondary gun is fairly useless in both an Anti-Air and Anti-Surface role
Only a single quadruple rack of torpedoes with low alpha
Torpedo angles are poor
Gun angles are poor for kiting, requiring a 40° angle to get all guns firing to the rear
