Player Opinion
Performance
Friesland is a Tier IX ship representing the European branch. She is equipped with only two dual mount gun turrets. She has a quick reload time and a variety of consumables at her disposal. Uncommon for destroyers in this game, she is not equipped with a torpedo armament.
Friesland is an odd-ship, in that her playstyle tends to drift toward that of a gunship destroyer or cruiser. Her gun range must be upgraded to achieve her full potential, and even then, she will likely struggle against ships such as Khabarovsk or Harugumo. Without torpedoes, she is reliant on rapid-firing small-caliber guns. These guns have decent velocity for short-range engagements but tend to have longer flight times at greater ranges. This means that Friesland is reliant on her agility and speed to dodge incoming fire. Her concealment is poor, although she really has no need for it because, in order to deal any damage, she has to fire her guns. She can provide smoke to teammates and has a decent anti-aircraft armament, making her a viable escort ship. For anything other than division play, captains will need to maintain a high level of situational awareness.
