After World War I, the bulk of the High Seas Fleet was interned in Scapa Flow. As they were the oldest German dreadnoughts, the Nassau-class ships were for the time permitted to remain in German ports. After the German fleet was scuttled, Nassau and her three sisters were surrendered to the victorious powers as replacements for the sunken ships. Nassau was ceded to Japan in April 1920. With no use for the ship, Japan sold her to a British wrecking firm which then scrapped her in Dordrecht, Netherlands. | After World War I, the bulk of the High Seas Fleet was interned in Scapa Flow. Nassau — German Tier III battleship.
In 1903, on the proposal of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the development of a new armored ship began. In 1906, a design featuring turrets armed with two 283 mm guns and enhanced anti-torpedo protection was approved. SMS Nassau, built at the Wilhelmshaven dockyard, became Germany's first dreadnought. After World War I broke out, the battleship provided cover during the attack on Scarborough. In 1915, she participated in an attempt to penetrate the Gulf of Riga. In the Battle of Jutland, the combined efforts of Nassau and Thüringen led to the sinking of British cruiser Black Prince.

Player Opinion
Performance
Nassau is the first German battleship in the line. She is similar to Kawachi in turret layout, but has smaller, faster firing guns. While faster firing, the guns can still somewhat inflict good damage despite having the smallest gun caliber at Tier III.
Secondary guns are beyond excellent for its tier, and can provide good protection especially when dealing with sneaky destroyers.
The accuracy on this ship, on the other hand, is noted by players as "hilarious" and very much like the Kawachi, most of the fired shots will tend to miss the target. However, firing in intervals will help lessen the accuracy problem.
One must be aware also, that this ship has very poor detection range. Most ships you will encounter can shoot at you even before you see them.Pros:
- Faster reload time than any other Tier III Battleship
- 1.8 sigma makes her accuracy superior to contemporary battleships.
- Very tough armor, difficult to citadel
- Bow has enough armor to deflect most shells from other battleships.
- Long-range and high damage secondary guns melt light ships.
- Despite having the smallest caliber main guns in Tier III BBs, shells can still inflict good damage.
- Can point six guns fully forward and all her batteries have excellent shooting angles that allow angling and shooting.
Cons:
- While it has a 1.8 sigma, it still has terrible dispersion and misses a lot.
- Vulnerable to fires due to the lack of deck armor.
- Low top speed
- Poor AA protection
Optimal Configuration
Upgrades
The recommended upgrades for Nassau are as follows:
- Slot 1: Main Armaments Modification 1 helps improve the survival of her main guns.
- Slot 2: Damage Control System Modification 1 will improve her overall survival in battle.

Camouflage
Type 1, 2, or 5 camouflage can be equipped for credits; Types 2 or 5 are recommended at a minimum to reduce the accuracy of incoming shells.
Nassau also has a permanent camouflage called "Blade", in which she appears as she does during the Halloween scenario "A Light in the Dark".Gallery
