Leberecht Maass — German Tier VII destroyer.

The first destroyer of the next generation (Zerstörer 1934 type), which paved the way for the development of ships of this type in the German navy until the end of World War II. Thanks to large dimensions and robust design, she had excellent survivability.

Pros:

Fast rate of fire, on par with Mahan.
Can deliver torpedo strikes from beyond her detection range.
Although on the lower end compared to other Tier VII destroyers in terms of speed, the Leberecht Maass is still a fast destroyer.
Largest health pool of all Tier VII destroyers.
First German destroyer to have access to Hydroacoustic Search.

Cons:

High shell arcs.
Somewhat slow turret traverse speed.
Large detection range for a destroyer.
Very short smokescreen duration limits offensive smoking ability.

Camouflage

Type 1, 2, or 5 camouflage can be equipped for credits; Types 1 or 5 are recommended at a minimum to reduce detectibility range.

Players who wish to spend doubloons can equip Leberecht Maass with Type 17 camouflage that lowers her detection radius, reduces the accuracy of incoming shells, reduces her repair costs, and increases the amount of experience she earns.
