Wyoming — American Tier IV battleship.
In 1908, a discussion arose within the U.S. Navy regarding the possibility of transitioning to a larger caliber for battleship guns, inspired by the British example. To save time on infrastructure conversion and avoid additional design efforts, a decision was made to keep the main caliber of battleships under construction at 305 mm while increasing the number of guns to 12. Upon entering service, USS Wyoming assumed the flagship role for the Atlantic Fleet and actively took part in the occupation of Veracruz. During World War I, the battleship reinforced the British fleet by relocating to Scapa Flow. She then escorted convoys and conducted patrols in the North Sea.

Player Opinion
Performance
Pros:
- Lots of main battery guns: 6x2 superfiring turrets can deliver a tremendous broadside, literally twice the shells her IJN tier counterpart Myogi can fire
- Effective guns: 12" guns are effective for tier, and will be able to citadel battleships of the same tier and all IJN battleships she will encounter
- Effective close range defense: 5" secondary battery and sheer number of 12" main guns must be taken seriously by destroyers
- Good armor for tier: includes designed 11" belt
- Very good maneuverability: she will be able to evade many of the torpedoes fired at her
- Overall, one of the best USN battleships for its tier, due to the enormous amount of guns it has
Cons:
- Mediocre gun range: while she will be able to reply to a cruiser's challenge, Myogi and higher tier IJN battleships will far outrange her
- Slow top speed: being able to make only 20.5kts, she will struggle in getting into position and adapt to a quickly changing arena
- Weak torpedo protection: torpedo bulges will mitigate only a small proportion of damage, and large number of magazines can be detonated by torpedoes
Research
With an anti-air rating of 0 and a maneuverability rating of 8 in the stock configuration, it is pretty obvious why she is promptly sunk by air launched torpedoes. One of the first things that you should get is the propulsion upgrade. Whilst it doesn't help with aircraft, the increase in maneuverability and speed is noticeable. After upgrading the propulsion, the hull is probably best done next. With a default gun range of 12.8km, the Wyoming still out-ranges most of the ships at the same tier and the addition of AA guns and the extra maneuverability is well worth it. Once you have done the hull there is only the aiming system to go, and fully upgraded this a potent war machine.
