?Forgoing all of the intricate details like anti-aircraft rating and handling characteristics, any comparison of the two ships boils down to this: Fubuki has four guns in two twin mounts and 10.0 km torpedoes, while Shinonome has six guns in three twin mounts to go with 8.0 km range torpedoes. Digging deeper, we see that Fubuki’s torpedoes not only travel farther, they hit harder: over 16,000 rated damage each compared to Shinonome’s 14,400 damage apiece.  Both sister ships share the Japanese destroyer line's slow turret traverse; this weakness can make fighting at close range tricky, especially against American destroyers and their quick-turning guns. Shinonome gets more gun barrels, but has a slower reload time and less range. While she won't be winning many gun duels, the extra barrels give her a bigger damage potential per salvo against weakened enemies. Shinonome’s anti-aircraft suite is even more pathetic than Fubuki’s; captains are advised to simply disable her AA guns and never turn them on.  Both sister ships share the Japanese destroyer line's slow turret traverse; this weakness can make fighting at close range tricky, especially against American destroyers and their quick-turning guns. ?* Retains most of Fubuki’s strengths, including health pool and torpedo launcher configuration.+* Hard hitting HE shells, with a good aim they are capable of doing ~3,000 damage per salvo against destroyers.
?* Additional gun barrels give her more damage potential per salvo than Fubuki.+* Guns have excellent ballistics and accuracy capable of fighting destroyers better than Fubuki
?* Torpedo speed of 63 knots is 4 knots faster than Fubuki's top torpedoes with an viable 8 km of range.+* Carries one more turret compared to Fubuki
?* Comfortable handling; veterans of Fubuki will find no surprises in how Shinonome accelerates and turns.+* Excellent torpedoes with the fastest reload at her tier with decent speed and range
+* Three triple torpedo launchers capable of launching 9 torpedos ~every minute, same as Fubuki.
+* Decent rudder shift time and good turn radius allows dodging shells, torpedos, aircraft easy.
 +* Okay concealment.

?* Retains all of Fubuki’s weaknesses, including low top speed and weak armor.+* Ridiculously slow top speed for a destroyer, tied with Fubuki for the worst.
?* Torpedoes have a moderately lower range and than Fubuki's top torpedoes.+* Torpedos have 2 km less range, less damage, and flood chance than Fubuki.
?* Practically non-existent AA suite that's even weaker than that of Fubuki.+* Very poor main battery rate of fire at 9 seconds, slow turret traverse speed, and poor range.
+* Nonexistent AA with only a single twin mount, helpless against planes.
+* Despite decent gun damage and accuracy, she can still fall quickly to rapid firing destroyers if one isn't careful.

?Due to Shinonome’s low top speed, it's highly recommended to mount premium Engine Boost II for better escaping from enemy gunboat destroyers (such as Farragut or Ognevoi). Shinonome — Japanese special premium Tier VI destroyer.

One of the first Fubuki-class destroyers, with an incredible striking power from her three 610 mm torpedo launchers. The ship significantly surpassed preceding-class destroyers in terms of artillery firepower. However, her anti-aircraft defenses were weak, which was characteristic of all Japanese destroyers.

Shinonome is available only as a reward for completing the Honorable Service campaign.

Shinonome is a Tier VI premium Japanese destroyer. Astute captains will immediately notice her similarities to sister ship Fubuki.

Forgoing all of the intricate details like anti-aircraft rating and handling characteristics, any comparison of the two ships boils down to this: Fubuki has four guns in two twin mounts and 10.0 km torpedoes, while Shinonome has six guns in three twin mounts to go with 8.0 km range torpedoes. Digging deeper, we see that Fubuki’s torpedoes not only travel farther, they hit harder: over 16,000 rated damage each compared to Shinonome’s 14,400 damage apiece. While this makes Fubuki’s torpedoes more dangerous than Shinonome’s, Shinonome’s torpedoes are nothing to sneeze at. They are a comfortable middle ground between Fubuki’s two different torpedo modules, retaining the lower damage output of the Type 8 mod. 1's, but picking up some additional range as well as speed.

Overall, captains who are familiar with the play style of the Japanese destroyer line will feel right at home in Shinonome.

Pros:

 • Hard hitting HE shells, with a good aim they are capable of doing ~3,000 damage per salvo against destroyers.
 • Guns have excellent ballistics and accuracy capable of fighting destroyers better than Fubuki
 • Carries one more turret compared to Fubuki
 • Excellent torpedoes with the fastest reload at her tier with decent speed and range
 • Three triple torpedo launchers capable of launching 9 torpedos ~every minute, same as Fubuki.
 • Decent rudder shift time and good turn radius allows dodging shells, torpedos, aircraft easy.
 • Okay concealment.

Cons:

 • Ridiculously slow top speed for a destroyer, tied with Fubuki for the worst.
 • Torpedos have 2 km less range, less damage, and flood chance than Fubuki.
 • Very poor main battery rate of fire at 9 seconds, slow turret traverse speed, and poor range.
 • Nonexistent AA with only a single twin mount, helpless against planes.
 • Despite decent gun damage and accuracy, she can still fall quickly to rapid firing destroyers if one isn't careful.
 • Can only be obtained by completing the Honorable Service campaign

Research

As a premium ship, Shinonome doesn't have any upgrades to research.

Optimal Configuration

Upgrades

Shinonome has more guns and shorter-range torpedoes than upgraded Fubuki, tipping the preference more toward a Gun build.

Upgrade Slot 3 also offers Aiming Systems Modification 1 : -7% main battery dispersion. / +20% torpedo tubes traverse speed. / +5% secondary battery firing range. / -5% secondary battery dispersion. and Torpedo Tubes Modification 1 +20% traverse speed of torpedo tubes. / −40% chance of critical damage to torpedo tubes. / +5% to the speed of shipborne torpedoes.. AA Guns Modification 1 is pointless since her AA consists of a cook with a revolver.

Commander Skills

The following information is provided for players who wish to create a permanent captain for the ship. Those players who are retraining captains or using the ship to gain extra experience for a captain should consult the page relevant to the ship to which the captain will be assigned.

Consumables

Shinonome equips the following consumables:

Camouflage

As a premium ship, Shinonome comes with Default permanent camouflage and a set of permanent combat bonuses.

Signals

Shinonome captains should mount standard signal flags to improve the ship’s performance in battle. Captains looking to improve upon the ship’s armament should mount Victor Lima (+1% chance of causing a fire for bombs and shells with a caliber above 160mm / +0.5% chance of causing a fire for bombs and shells with a caliber below 160mm. / +4% chance of causing flooding.), Juliet Whiskey Unaone (+15% chance of causing flooding.), and November Foxtrot (-5% reload time on all consumables.) signal flags. Sierra Mike (+5% to the ship's maximum speed.) signal flags are recommended to increase the ships top speed.
