 The Tenryu was designed to lead destroyer flotillas and is capable of doing just that. The fast speed and great maneuverability makes the Tenryu very competitive in a destroyer fight. It is the first Japanese cruiser to be equipped with torpedoes and are arranged in 2x3 configuration. This allows it to engage enemy ships with an easier chance of hitting different areas while sacrificing the ability to face many enemies at once. The Tenryu also has 4 fast firing 140mm guns able to pummel destroyers and cruisers while becoming a nuisance to battleships setting them on fire and using up their damage control. The bad side of this ship is its terrible armor and large size. The citadel and propulsion are easily damaged with guns 152mm and above. Avoid getting into large firefights as you cannot stand up to the punishment. Stay with your destroyer friends and act as a second wave mopping up leftover targets to help your team to victory.  The Tenryu was designed to lead destroyer flotillas and is capable of doing just that.   • Hull: Upgrade to Hull (B) for an improved rudder shift time and additional hit points. Research of this module unlocks progression to battleship Kawachi.
  • Gun Fire Control System: Upgrade to Type 3 Mod. 2 for an extra 10% range on the main battery. Research of this module unlocks progression to cruiser Kuma.

Tenryu captains should mount the standard flags to improve the ship's performance in battle. To improve upon the ship's armaments, India X-Ray (+1% chance of causing a fire for bombs and shells with a caliber above 160mm. / +0.5% chance of causing a fire for bombs and shells with a caliber below 160mm.), Victor Lima (+1% chance of causing a fire for bombs and shells with a caliber above 160mm / +0.5% chance of causing a fire for bombs and shells with a caliber below 160mm. / +4% chance of causing flooding.), and Juliet Whiskey Unaone (+15% chance of causing flooding.) flags are recommended to increase the fire chance and flooding chances respectively. To improve the ship’s survivability, captains should mount November Foxtrot (-5% reload time on all consumables.) and India Yankee (-20% to fire duration.) flags. Sierra Mike (+5% to the ship's maximum speed.) flags are recommended to increase the ship’s already high top speed. Lastly, economic and special signal flags can be mounted to improve the ship’s economic gains per battle.
